Staff I met were helpful and friendly. Driving range not in great shape mostly dirt on the bays although it looks like a new bay set up with mats is being constructed. Greens are really bad , bumpy and not much grass . Fairways did not have a lot of grass , plenty. of bare spots . Bunkers could do with being reworked Lots of water hazards . Most tees not in great shape.Course layout is good and would be challenging even with course in tip top condition .

This golf course was a very welcome start to our vacation in Waller in July. I've golfed in many very affluent places. Now this isn't The Harbour or Pebble Beach but for a local club I was pleasantly surprised. They were very friendly, accommodating and very well priced. You won't find the fluffiest sand in the traps or the undulating greens but was a fair course in great shape for a fair price. If you're in the area and have the time, it's a worthwhile stop.

My rating is relative to a golf course in the country - this is a very eye-appealing layout on a beautiful property, with great customer service. I experienced this course twice during the week in early October, 2016. Service: 5 - the ladies in Pro Shop were very friendly and helpful, offering me the Sr. Rate without my asking. Ice and water at the clubhouse and coolers on the course were all stocked and cold. Carts ready on arrival - very clean with lots of juice. Value: 5 - Rate ($25 @ 55+) is well below market for courses of higher renown in the greater Houston area. Regular rate not much more, I'm told. Playability: 5 - at 0 to half a stoke (loss of distance on next shot), rough is penal for average golfer, but not prohibitive. Balls can be found with relative ease. Fairway widths are right-sized for average golfers. Many holes are doglegs or set up with slanted tee boxes to give a variety of looks and opportunities to drive through fairways if you're not paying attention. Not crowded during the week, and I expect that you could get a tee time on the weekend without too much trouble. Conveniently located a half mile west of the US 290/Hwy 6 intersection for fly-bys on the Houston/ College Station/Austin path. Condition: 4 - most greens had a few dark patches and a few weeds, but putted very smooth and true. Fairways were very well kept and aesthetically pleasing. Tee boxes were stressed on a few holes, but good overall. Some areas (like around the lake and gazebo area at 18) suffer from a lack of attention, but they prioritize their efforts in the right places (greens first). As other reviewers have mentioned, the course appears to have the trimmings (rock lake borders, flowing streams/waterfalls, etc.) of a private gated community course that didn't make it, which makes maintenance challenging as a lower priority. In summary, this was an enjoyable, reasonably priced and easy round of golf that I hope to repeat many times while on business in the area, and I highly recommend the course.

Just played there Sat 8/20/16 after about a 5 year absence and the course is in Great Shape. Arrived as a Single around 8:30 and was promptly matched with a threesome by the friendly staff. Rough around the edge of the fairway was a little long but not unusual since they have probably not had much chance to Cut with all the rain. Nice to see a Marshall patrolling the course to ensure proper pace of play and adherence to the 90 degree rule which was in effect. The fairways and greens were in wonderful condition. Only thing that would have made it better was beverage service on the course.

Decent course for $25. Worth what you pay since one temporary green and several about gone with lots of bare spots. A couple fairways damaged. Nice lady in the pro shop with free bug spray for the love bugs, skeeters, flies and gnats who chew on the golfers and nearby cows.
