Horrible & Disgusting Great Wolf Lodge Birthday Cake
Oct 2021
Please do not purchase the birthday package at the Grapevine location; the cake is utterly dry, old, and completely void of any taste. I was amazed at how disgusting the cake was. It would be to your advantage to bring your own cake BYOC! It is very disheartening they sale and distribute their so called "Birthday Cake" to children.

We had a great time! Here's a couple of tips.
Aug 2021 • Family
We arrived Friday Aug 27 @ 4:45pm and had no wait to check-in. Just walked right up. Our room was ready. Tip #1 If you make your room reservation payment via Paypal, you cannot do early check-in online or via the app since they'll use the last 4 digits of your credit card for early check-in. We didn't know so that's why we had to do in-person check-in. Jay did our check-in and was so friendly and helpful. Tip #2 from Jay is to make breakfast reservations if you're eating at the Loose Moose Cottage. The wait line at brkfst gets long but if you have a reservation you can skip the line and walk right up! There were many healthy food options at the Cottage buffet. Our room was clean. There was no strong chlorine smell that burned my eyes or gave me headaches. Our only disappointment was that the two outdoor water slides were not working during our visit.

Don’t waste your money

After waiting in a long line to check in, we head to the water park where we paid $350 for an outdoor cabana. Wait in another line & told outdoor area is closed for “hopefully only another hour” and no we can’t use the cabana yet, no they don’t have anywhere to put all of our stuff and no, they won’t discount our cabana since we were supposed to be able to use it at 10am & it’s now 11:40. There isn’t a single chair inside available & I didn’t receive any notice it was closed.
The bartender just told us the outdoor pool might not open at all!! We previously booked our trip a few weeks ago but rescheduled because we couldn’t get a cabana. Now I’m stuck sitting out in the heat with our stuff (and upset kids), can’t get in the pool, or use our cabana we already paid for. We should have stayed down the street at the Hilton Lakes for FAR less money. Something should have been done to compensate us other than a sorry, just keep checking back. GW just lost a repeat customer.

Great vacation spot.

This was our second trip to a great wolf lodge. We love it. Rooms are nice. There’s a lot for kids to do and the parents can enjoy drinks by the pool. The Grapevine lodge has a rope course that’s great and more outside pools then the one in Ohio has. My only complaint is how steep prices are. Plan to go home broke with happy, tired children. We’ll be back!

We stayed at Great wolf in Grapevine, Tx. from June 7-12 th , we had the best time! Every staff member we encountered was super friendly and helpful with my questions or any need we had. The place was clean and we enjoyed all the activities. Was it a little crowded, sometimes slow elevators, and a little noisy in hallways, at times yes...but it is a kids attraction. We had the very best time and will be back next year. We did not eat there except for the treat/snack shop and Starbucks. The food is high and average, so not worth it in my opinion, but that is par for the course for a attraction like this. They have a mini fridge and microwave. We went up to the room for snacks and drinks, totally wasn't an issue for us. House keeping was as needed with covid ,which I thought was cray, but I don't like ppl in my room anyway so I was good. All I had to do was text our personal attendant on the app and they brought me what I needed every day. Their is a WalMart and sams not far away and the mall has a great food court. Old west cafe for breakfast down the road is a must..go there instead of the lodge...you wont regret it!!!! We didn't do paw passes, but opted for Lego land down the road. Arcade was crowded and looked expensive and average, my kids didn't.mimd not doing it. My kids (age 10 & 12 ) loved the dance party and rope course! Water park was amazing, we loved the indoor and outdoor options. Chlorine smell was not bad, and my mom had bad asthma and we are sensitive. I found it as expected for an indoor water park. The Lazy river is crowded, but it's best early morning and late in evening. Weekdays are definitely less crowded over all for everything. I found the top floor kept noise down. Also water pressure in shower was okay, didn't bother us though and did the job. Basically all normal stuff for a family place like this with high kid traffic. If you have an issue , they will tend to it if you let them know. You pay higher for the water park, not for a give star hotel. You are not gonna get the Ritz, but it is a nice, extremely fun , comfortable, clean, kid friendly hotel/ vacay. We got it half price with a deal on their site and that's how I plan to go again...not full price! The staff went above and beyond. I was really stressing with previous reviews I had read, but they must of addressed a lot of issues. I highly recommend it if your into water parks and kid oriented, family friendly vacations!! We can't wait to return for 5-6 days next year's.
P.s. if you have little ones 2-4 days is probably all I would stay. Great for all kids ages though, something for everyone!

OK for a quick getaway

I only leave honest reviews.

When you arrive don’t be distracted by all the trash in the parking lot. I don’t know why they can’t have attendants picking up trash.

When you check-in don’t let unfriendly staff ruin your first day. They are just a reflection of management.

Don’t expect to be told everything when you check in. You have to ask questions. They just want to process your payment and quickly get you out of the line.

When you arrive to your room do a quick inspection. Make sure the sink is not pouring water on the floor from the leaking p-trap. It’s a convenient place to slide a suitcase underneath but the previous customer may have jerked their suitcase out unknowingly pulling the p-trap loose.

If you don’t have what you need go ahead and make your request for more towels. You will wait for awhile.

Don’t expect the elevators to be your mode of transportation from floor to floor. They are very, very slow. Take the stairs and save time, especially if going down. Trust me on this one.

Enjoy the indoor water park. That is the only reason you decided to stay at GWL. If not stay across the street at the Gaylord Texan. Hopefully you will be treated better.

The indoor water park is a lot of fun. I have two teenage girls who had a blast. Ride as a family! You make your own memories.

Don’t be surprised at the expensive food prices. What did you expect... you’re at a water park trying to have fun. Spend a little extra to make everyone have a great experience.

Make sure to turn your swim towels in or you will be charged $150+ for used towels. Don’t trust me? Read other reviews.

Don’t worry what you look like in a swimsuit. You’re there to have fun. Let loose and enjoy the time with your family. Be modest of course, it’s a family themed park.

After the exhausting day of sliding and swimming, grab a bite to eat turn the temp down to 67 and get some rest. Trust me you will need some ibuprofen. But you will feel refreshed the next morning.

If you are conservative eat breakfast in the room and get some Starbucks on the main floor, get woke up because the fun is about to happen again.

Make sure to get to the water park early enough to get some seats. It gets busy quickly. The only reason people go to GWL is for the water park not the outdated rooms and unfriendly staff.

If you are checking out, don’t be shy to stay at the water park all day. It’s what you paid for.

Upon leaving, make sure to scan your bracelet for the towel rentals and then put the towels in the bin.

Make sure to smile and laugh with your family. Don’t worry about what’s waiting for you when you return home. Work and laundry will always be waiting for you.

Overall it was a good getaway. Rooms are a bit overpriced but the water park is worth it. Food is overpriced but convenient if you don’t want to leave the premises.

Just abide by the mask rules and take it off when you’re not around the staff. They push the masks but you agreed to it when you booked the room.

I hope this review helps make your stay more enjoyable.

To Whom It May Concern,
My family, and I have stayed at Great Wolf two times. Plus, both times we had friends that booked also. The first time we stayed Feb.2020 I got double booked, and charged twice. So they gave me a $150 off coupon to use on my next stay. So we decided to book, and try it again. This time I called the number provided to book the stay. We don't have internet access out where we live so I hardly check my email, but luckily I did this time. I seen the reservation that was booked, and took 40 mins over the phone to get booked was booked for IL instead of TX. So if I wouldn't of caught it I would of showed up at the wrong locations, and not have a room. So I called and had it changed. That was another 40 min call over the phone. So we get to the hotel to check in on the day of the reservation only to be at the window for 30 to 40 minutes with them getting the coupon taken off, the hold put on my credit card, and paying for the pup pass. It was all suppose to be taken care of at that point. So I get two emails in the middle of the night saying I owed $150, then $50. So at check out they tell me I owe $150. I'm at the window another 40 or more minutes. All this time is time I should be having fun with my family worry free. All because they didn't apply the coupon the day before. I home school my son, and All the time on the phone I should of been able to help him with his school work. I have health issues, and my Family and I deserve a relaxing, and stressfree weekend getaway. Without these issues and raising my blood pressure worrying about emails, texts, and wrong reservations. I'm not pleased with all of this.

Don't go here hungry

Bring your own sunscreen. We forgot, and a small bottle was $24.
The water park, Paradise Springs, was fun for the kiddos. Water was warm, and plenty of monitoring and safety measures. We ordered food and drinks as soon as we arrived and over an hour later still hadn't received even our drinks. We finally had to abandon that, and went back to the hotel pool to get food.

Didn't live up to the hype
Mar 2021
We booked one of the 2 bedroom rooms expecting it to be nice. Well, the couch that folded out for our 4th bed was horrible. The springs were poking up on one side. Each time you turned over it squeaked! Kids were running up and down the halls screaming when it was suppose to be "quiet" time. When the person on the floor above us flushed the toilet it sounded like water was about to come in our room!

The lodge wasn't staffed to accommodate the crowd. There was 1 staff member at each location! There was a 30-40 min wait to cash in your tickets for the arcade and for Build-A-Bear. The restaurant closed at 7 so your only option was pizza. All of the prices were outrageous, but that was expected.

The water area is showing signs of wear. There were broken tiles and around the drains were dirty.

This is the second time to take my family to GWL. This time I was very disappointed!
