- David M2 contributionsGood for young kids and parents have fun watching kids being happy.A few years ago my three year old loved it. The other three of us loved seeing him have so much fun. At six he has a renewed interest in dinosaurs so I was thinking of taking him with me and leaving the 14 and 40 year old females to do something they wanted to spend money on maybe in Glen Rose Square. Bone Anza is GREAT!Visited September 2022Written February 12, 2023
- eatsleeptourDallas, Texas743 contributionsFun for young & oldWe were spending a family weekend in Glen Rose and had a couple toddlers so decided to check out dinosaur world. From the pictures online I assumed all of the dinosaurs were animatronic, but most of them were just statues. It was a nice walk in fairly shaded area with lots of good information about various types of dinosaurs. We just did the dinosaur walk and not the excavation which cost more and they also had a miniature golf course that cost extra and you could buy fish food to feed the fish in the pond. However, we didn't realize that you had to buy the food in the gift shop before you made it out to the pond, so that was a little disappointing. It was a fun morning and we took lots of fun photos and the toddlers and adults all seem to enjoy it. In the actual museum they had several animatronic dinosaurs as well as factual information about dinosaurs along with fossils etc. Dinosaur world also had a great playground for the kids to burn some energy and a large gift shop where I felt the prices were very reasonable. We bought our tickets online to save a little bit of money but all in all I would say it was a good day and I would recommend it if you have young children.Visited May 2023Traveled with familyWritten May 6, 2023
- WildHaireAdventuresTyler, Texas1,523 contributionsGreat place for childrenWe took our grandson here due to his love of anything dinosaurs and he loved it! The tour was so realistic and the staff was wonderful. We enjoyed the fossil dig and panning for gems. If you have children that love dinosaurs, take them here!Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 11, 2023
- Seven7777Louisiana1,143 contributionsCheesy, but perfect for young Dino loversWe took a dinosaur trip to Dinosaur Valley State Park, so we stopped by here on the way out. First of all, it's expensive, so if you have older kids or kids who aren't crazy about dinosaurs, just skip it. But if you have a dinosaur obsessed kid like ours, they'll be in heaven. It's basically a zoo, but every exhibit is a dinosaur statue. They don't move or make any noise, and some of them are old/damaged. There is a museum building with animatronics and artifacts on display. The Fossil dig costs extra, but they get to keep 3 fossils. The playground is really nice. It's large and well done. The gift shop is huge with lots of opportunities to buy fossils. We've been to this location twice and had a good time both times, but we really love dinosaurs.Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 24, 2023

If you love dinosaurs or have kids that do then a stop at Dinosaur World is a must! They have a small museum but it is full of information and has dinosaur figures that move and make noises. Kids will love this.....and some adults as well. The dinosaur walk is the best thing about Dinosaur World. It is like a walk in the park but around every turn there is a life size dinosaur and of course an information board so you can learn the name of the dinosaur and little tidbits of information about them. It was really awesome seeing how large these dinosaurs really were and standing next to them for comparison. Such a unique experience!
Due to covid the fossil dig, gem mining, and playground are closed so they are offering discounted tickets. If you want the full experience you will want to wait until after covid. I will definitely be back to try the gem mining!

Dino World is ok. Would probably be better for really young kids. It’s an outdoor walk looking at unrealistic plaster dinosaur models. It’s a nice nature walk with a kitschy Dino theme. The museum part was boring with nothing to see and then there’s the highly overpriced gift shops. A couple of the activities are closed right now due to COVID. I interacted with two employees that were extremely rude. One was working at the front ticket counter and wouldn’t even respond to my questions. Just seemed put out at me. Not horrible for $8. But wouldn’t pay more.

This is a great activity for children 10 and under. We took our 5 year old who loves dinosaurs and he was ecstatic! I recommend that you go early (Opens at 9:00) to avoid the heat and any crowds. Bring sunscreen, hats and comfortable shoes. You can also bring a dog along if you want. They have water in the gift shop but no food. It would be smart to bring snacks or pack a lunch. They offer lots of outdoor dinosaur exhibits that are located on a winding, mostly shaded, level concrete outdoor trail.
There is also a playground, gift shop and an indoor museum. We upgraded our ticket for the 5 year old (About $10 extra) and this allowed him to "pan" for gemstones which he was allowed to keep. He thoroughly enjoyed it and it was educational. I can recommend this activity and I will return again.

We really enjoyed our walk around dinosaur world. It was fun to take pictures with the dinosaurs and we like the little museum too. The gift shop had lots of variety and we did pick up a few things even though they were a bit expensive. I do think the price was high for what you get, but it was still a great diversion on our road trip. An opportunity to stretch our legs, learn some new things, and get some neat photos. Be sure to get money to feed the fish, as that was a real highlight. We saw koi, lots of turtles, And even a snake swimming in the water. That was pretty cool! Feeding the fish isn’t pricey and definitely worth it. Overall, Dinosaur World is not a great bang for your buck but still a good time :-)

Even with the limited attractions due to COVID-19 we still had a great time at lower costs. We had the Dino Walk all to ourselves and it was amazing. My 2 yr old grandson was just in heaven & my 9 yr old granddaughter was very impressed. I’ve been to a few dinosaur exhibits and this is by far the best I’ve seen.

This is personally not my type of activity. We came here because we have a 4 year old and we wanted to experience all of Glen Rose's major attractions, which this is one.
We visited this park during Labor Day Weekend 2020 still in the middle of the pandemic. The play area and dino dig are closed due to COVID-19. The major activity to do here is the dino walk and the museum. Not impressed.
Very crowded during the Holiday weekend. Very little social distancing.
There is a big gift shop, mainly toys for children which are overpriced.

Lots of good information about all types of dinosaurs, not just the ones you always hear about. The entire exhibit is dog friendly! The only word of warning I would give, is if your dog is excitable DO NOT take them into the inside museum. There are anamatronic dinosaurs with noises..

Agree with other reviews spend your money elsewhere. Very boring. Children ages: 16, 5, 6 months. Due to COVID everything is closed and you literally have to walk along a path and look at dinosaur statues from a distance.

This place is amazing. We never knew anything like this existed. What you see for the small fee you pay is totally worth it. We drove over an hour to get here and truly loved every minute if it. Great job to the creators who have given dinosaur lovers a feeling of what it might have been like when they roamed the earth.

I didn't see any at the dino world but I with was with 2 boys, a dog, and husband all moving different directions. If you want to see the the actual foot prints just drive down the road a few min to the dinosaur valley state park (there is a cost to get in). They have trails with footprints every where. Very cool. Plus you can get in the water and cool down. They even have a guide that does tour groups and talks about them.

2 to 3 hours. Check the fossil dig times (4 or 5 times a day as I recall) and you may want to schedule accordingly.

Yes! Oakdale Park is 7 minutes away from Dinosaur World, and it's wonderful. There is a huge swimming pool, lots of trees, lots of beautiful playground equipment for children, concession stand, and across the street from Oakdale Park is BIG ROCKS!
Check it out! You'll love it!!!! So glad you're coming to Glen Rose. It's a pretty amazing small town, with lots of nice people! ENJOY!! Oh yes, don't forget to visit Fossil RIm!
We are over 75 grandparents and would like to bring our grandchildren over. We just could not make that walk. Can we bring over our golf cart to ride thru the exhibit? Or do you have scooter rentals?
False advertisement. We bought scooter and they refused to allow. I would give them 1 star for their treatment
How much are tickets?
