Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is where Africa comes to Texas. Our 1,800-acre preserve holds a 9.5 mile scenic drive where you can interact with over 1,100 rare and endangered animals roaming free in their herds. Stay in your car, reserve your spot on a guided tour, or even spend a night at our Safari Camp or Lodge to see over 50 different species of wild animals including cheetahs, wolves, giraffes, rhinos and more. The delicious food at The Overlook Cafe is paired with an incredible view overlooking the park and our gift shop offers souvenirs to take home to family and friends. While Fossil Rim is sure to provide a unique experience and exciting adventure, we are dedicated to the conservation of species on the brink of extinction. Fossil Rim conducts scientific research, trains professionals, responsibly manages our natural resources and is committed to public education. We are a not-for-profit breeding center dedicated to the recovery of species in the wild and we invite you to join us in our efforts. Grab your camera and head this way for the scenic wildlife drive you won't forget. Located in Glen Rose, Texas, we are just 52 miles SW of Fort Worth and well worth a visit for people of all ages!

Awesome experience, like taking a ride through the Serengeti. We took the guided tour and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. Fossil Rim has done some amazing things for conservation. Plan on spending at least a half a day. Gift shop is nice too, with some items from the park itself.

Enjoyed our trip through the park. What a pretty view of both landscape and animals. The cheetahs are beautiful! Large variety of different deer. Nice brochure handed out to help you identify the different species. Will return!

Great wildlife viewing. Recommend the private tour to get a good view of all the animals. The lodge is great for families as it has several decks to relax on and watch for animals along with two separate lounges, one with a pool table. This is a great overnight trip while in the area or just looking for a quick... More

First visit for our family. Guided tour was worth it! Lunch at the overlook was delicious, store is expansive and reasonably priced. Children's Center was free and our daughter enjoyed it. We will definitely return.

Had a great guided tour of the park. It was much better than driving on your own. Friendly tour guide and very knowledgeable.

What an awesome experience to be that close to exotic animals. We got to see Gazelles, Buffalo, Giraffes, Ostriches, Cheetahs, Rhinos& other various animals. Zebras ate pellets right out of our hands. Took us about 2.5 hours to drive through & that was including a picnic lunch & a stop at the gift shop that is located 1/2 way through... More

We took out 5th trip back here. We have a blast every time. The best time to go is when they first open all the animals will be up moving and ready to eat. It usually takes about 2 hours to go through if you take your time. They have a halfway point with a gift shop and restaurant. I... More

Excellent wildlife viewing. Plan on spending up to 4 hours. The animals are healthy and relaxed. The tour vehicles (for purchase) are comfortable and well maintained.

This was our second visit and I am so glad we decided to give it another try! Our first experience was during Spring Break and it was extremely crowded. The kids and I were slightly disappointed because the animals saw so many cars that day (and were being fed so much) that they weren't very willing to come out from... More
