Beautiful. Nature trails, camping spots, cool waters and fun for adults and children. Wear your swimsuit to keep cool in the summer. This would be great for hacking in the spring and fall.

We brought our sons who are two and four to the park. It was super hot (like 105) but once we got down to the river and walked in the water it cooled off enough to be enjoyable. We saw tons of dinosaur footprints and...More

We took our boys (ages 7 and 9) to Dinosaur Valley State Park on a Monday. Although most of the tourist spots in Glen Rose are closed on Monday and Tuesday, we loved going on an off day. There weren't many people, so we felt...More

The little ones thought it was pretty neat, but we went in the middle of the day and it was SO hot! We rushed through the outside exhibits, and the kids weren't able to play on the park equipment due to the heat. It's not...More

This is a beautiful park ... we love the hiking trails, the dinosaur tracks, wading in the river, and all of the natural beauty. Right now, the water is at a good level, for both swimming and seeing the tracks. We took our chairs and...More

This is a nice park. It seemed small to me compared to other state parks. My son and husband had fun in the river. They saw some tracks but not a lot. We drove through the campsites which seemed to be a good size. However,...More

When I was there it was winter but the water level was pretty low. I imagine there are areas to kayak but I don't think it's by the tracks. The tracks are accessible by walking. The only difficulty was crossing the creek on... More
Shoes... I know you have to wade through water and do a good amount of walking. What would be the best shoes? Nikes? Water shoes?

I wear Chacos. They're on the American Podiatry's top ten best shoes list, they have thick comfortable soles that you can walk on all day - I've done a 7 mile hike in them, and they dry quickly.
