Our family had a great time with Angler Charters. We took the 5 hr inshore/jetty and bay trip. The boat ride out to the fishing spot only took about 20 minutes which was nice because that gave us about 4 hours to fish. After about 2 minutes of the hook hitting the water we were reeling them in and didn’t stop until it was time to head back to the dock! They know where to go to get you on the fish! We caught Sheepshead, drum, speckled trout and Spanish mackerel. On our way back to the dock we baited up some lines to catch a shark. We didn’t catch a shark BUT we did catch a stingray which took my son 8 1/2 minutes to reel in. The stingray put up quite the fight.
Captains Caroline and Archie were awesome. They were very friendly and very helpful from the moment I called to inquire about the trip to the farewell on the dock.
You can definitely tell that Archie really cares about his clients walking away having had a good experience.
Caroline was awesome. She maneuvered the boat like a champ, baited hooks, took fish off the line and gave tips on what to do to ensure you got a fish on! She stayed busy the entire trip and we certainly appreciated all her help!
We would definitely recommend Angler Charters for a fun, easy going day of catching fish in Galveston.

Had an amazing day of boating and fishing with Captain Caroline and Mr. Archie. Took our 12 y/o son and 9 y/o daughter for their first chartered fishing trip and about 5
minuted after my daughters line got wet she was reeling in her first Sheepshead. From the first conversation with Caroline planning the trip, things couldn’t have gone any better. They were very knowledgeable and personable throughout the whole day, making sure everyone enjoyed the experience. A first class trip - without question!

Angler Charters was awesome! our family of 6 had the best time on our fishing trip. It was most of our family's first trip fishing. We had an amazing day out. Caroline and were very flexible to what our family wanted to do. so although we went for a 6 hour fishing trip, we ended up doing a fun flexible itinerary with fishing, swimming and eating. Great fishing, great conversation. And Caroline let our young adults drive the boat - They will NEVER forget that experience and now want us to buy them a boat! :-) thanks Caroline (hahaha not happening) .....thanks for the awesome trip!

Unbelievable experience compared to the numerous charter companies I've used previously.
Capt. Caroline was knowledgeable and great with the kids, all while teaching them the importance of safety.
We caught fish the majority of the trip, with 3 people catching their personal best trout!
Everyone got the shark they wanted and we all went home satisfied.
I'll be back soon! Thanks Caroline and Archie for making our vacation perfect!

We realized the day before our fishing trip that the weather was going to be bad, so I called Archie to discuss our plans. He gave us a few different options and we decided to get out for a long boat ride with them later in the afternoon, which included a stop for a nice late lunch at a local restaurant. It wasn't the fishing trip my son had planned on, but at least we got out on the water and had a great day. We appreciate Archie and Caroline being honest with us about the weather and fishing conditions and working with us to create a fun day after all! We will be back someday for that fishing trip and will definitely book Angler Charters again.

It was first our first inshore fishing experience and Angler Charters did not fail us. Everyone in my group came back with smiley faces even through we were a bit tired. Our captains and deck men were courteous and knowledgeable. We returned with several fish and two big ones! We even caught sharks.
From the start, the booking experience was easy. I made a call to Archie and he answered my questions and was friendly. The boat was easy to find with the information provided. Captain gave us tips on where to cast and it helps. Deck man setup our hooks and baits in the beginning and after that we manage to put the bait ourselves.
Overall a great experience and I highly recommend Angler Charters.

Only giving one star because I have to. Came out of town, booked hotels, made child care arrangements to bring my father in law and husband for their Father’s Day gifts, friends for their wedding present. Only to show up the morning of to fish and get today we will not be fishing today. No remorse no care nothing, talked to horribly by Archie. He had lie after lie of why they are canceling our trip. Couldn’t even call a head of time.

We sincerely apologize for the scheduling conflict on July 18th. Your party did contact us over the phone however all trips are entered online. The third-party booking system had deleted your booking when we decided that the close in state water trips were not yielding enough fish for the price our customers pay. The incident was addressed with our booking agency so that this does not occur again. We take full responsibility for the mistake we even attempted to compensate your party by offering to pay for your accommodations, comping the same trip on a later date, and offering to pay for a second round of hotel accommodations. I understand that the experience was unsatisfactory however Angler Charters is a family-oriented company and DO NOT TOLERATE the EXTREME profanity and obscene jesters exhibited by your party towards our captains, crew, and neighboring charters with children which in turn made any resolution to the situation impossible.

Me and my family had last minute changes to our travel plans for springbreak, we were struggling to find things to do with our two sons (6 & 9). Angler Charters were able to take us out last minute and were very flexible with our scheduling. We were leery about going on there smaller boat because of the kids, however Capt Caroline explained that the smaller boat was easier to fish and even had a bathroom! We were at our first spot within 10 minutes and hooked up within 15 minutes! We caught some HUGE black drum. After the kids were worn out from these big fish, she took us to get some sheeps head which were delish! Capt Caroline was very patient and knowledgable. We will definately be back!

We booked several months in advance, traveled out of town, had hotel rooms booked, babysitters paid for, etc. to be told upon arrival that “you are not going on the water today”. Archie apparently double booked us. And told us he decided that morning it “not profitable” to bring us on a tour. What does that even mean? We are paying customers!
Here is a lovely picture of the “La Cima” boat and the people it was profitable to bring out. So rude and unprofessional!

I took my son who just turned 13 on a half day fishing trip with his brother and sister plus a friend. I wasn't real sure what to do for his birthday during the pandemic but I am glad I chose to go fishing with Angler Charters. It was super easy to book the trip from their website and when we arrived that morning, we boarded the boat and left right away. Everyone had a very good time and we are ready to go back.

Do they provide bait and fishing rods? Do we have to bring our own cooler? Do they fillet the fish for us? Where can we buy the fishing permit?

1. Rates for fishing trips - party of 4 - (1 adult and 3 boys, ages 13, 11, 9)
2. Availability for either May 28 or 29
3. Fishing licenses needed?
4. What to bring?
Written May 9, 2016
Just go to Wal-Mart near by and they will tell you what license you need. It was an easy process. I brought my sunglasses, hat, sunblock and a cooler to bring my fish back to the hotel. They will clean the fish for you.
