This is absolutely the best way to get around the island. For $1 each way you can go from Moody Gardens to the Strand. Also a great opportunity to just see the Island. Comes every 30 min to dozens of stops.

My wife and I rode the trolley during our spring break to Galveston Island, we found it to be clean, comfortable, inexpensive, a great way to get around. Driver was friendly and helpful with directions and explaining the stop locations and timing.

Our trolley was all dressed up for Christmas. The cost is fair, the ride is simple, no extensive routes. Just along the seawall and one route into downtown.

I assume you can. I saw folks with big shopping bags on the trolley. Be prepared to wait for it to come. Give yourself plenty of time.

As I remember the Trolley hours are the same but stops earlier in winter. We were there for the month of February for Mardi Gras. The schedule was interupted for the parades. I don't think it ran until 10 pm.
