We usually come to Galveston to the Grand to see 3-4 shows a year. Last night we saw Vicki Lawrence it was a fabulous show. The Grand is our favorite place to see artists and plays, it is a great venue. The people associated with The Grand are super helpful and very friendly. If you get a chance to see... More

Went to watch the Vickie Lawrence show and it was an outstanding performance. The hostesses at the Opera House were very accommodating and welcoming. They escorted you to your seat and made sure all your needs were met. The Opera House was a very beautiful building.

We needed a cheap fourth attraction for our Island Pass or we wouldn't have bothered, but for the price (under $5) it was worth our while. You get a brochure that tells you about the theater and then take the elevator to the top and work your way down. Very interesting if you enjoy the history of the Island.

Glad you enjoyed your self-guided tour! Hope you will come back and enjoy a performance in our beautiful, intimate venue! There is nothing like seeing a live performance in a venue with no seat further than 70 feet from the stage and the performers! Thanks for adding us to your Island Pass! More

Easy location to get to and inexpensive to just tour the building. Make sure that there isn't a show that night because they will not let you in. If you want to see a show here, ask for Kim or Judy. They will find you the best seats in the house that fit your budget. The "obstructed views" are behind... More

Whether you live here or just visiting you should make a point of catching a show at the Grand 1984 Opera House. Not only will you thoroughly enjoy the show/performance, but you will be amazed by the restoration of this historic opera house.

We've seen multiple performers at this venue and there just isn't a bad seat in the house (main floor especially). From Jerry Jeff Walker, Lyle Lovett, Itzhak Perlman to the Houston Ballet....something for everyone and we just love attending shows there!

Positives: located close to the strand, beautiful inside. Negatives: Parking difficult as always, but found some free within walking distance. Don't pay full price! Google them online to find discounts, I found a BOGO on the website. Don't sit it row A or B in seats on the far end, you can't see over the stage or the sound boxes.... More

Beautifully architectured historic landmark where you can go enjoy musicals, operas, concerts and more! It's absolutely gorgeous and you can find a great seat just about anywhere! Saw "A Tuna Christmas" a few years ago and it was hilarious!
