My wife and I attended the 1894 Grand in Galveston, Texas for a Temptations Concert on 12/17/2021. Although this was my first time attending, I was amazed! The restoration, the seating layout, everything was wonderful for such a 100 year old venue! I truly enjoyed it and look forward to the next time!

We attended The Beach Boys show at The Grand and will be attending another show in a week or so. Very popular and many from the cruise ships attend if it works time wise. I assume tickets are available on the ship; however, you can go online and check it out. Very friendly and cozy for it is not a large theatre with live shows.

I've been to a few concerts here. Due to the small size, there is not a bad seat in the house. It's a rare opportunity to see the performers in such an intimate venue. One performer even added an acoustical piece at the end; it was great!

This historic Opera house is a must see. Located on the strand downtown Galveston. They have many concerts there. Must pay for parking on strand.

Great visit for about 30 minute tour of the 3 floor theater. There are traveling shows that come to town.

It's a wonderful experience to step back in time and enjoy the performances in this cozy theater. The seating in the theater is close-but fine. Limited leg room so I leave the purse at home and put necessary items in my jacket pockets. There is no room for bulky coats or purses. Convenient parking behind the theater if you get there early enough. Otherwise there is another parking lot very close across the tracks. I like seating in the middle Orchestra close to the aisle-great view of the stage.

The building was beautiful, the performance was outstanding. But...we sat in grand tier in the front row. There was no leg room and it was very steep and there was just a bar to stop you from falling off

This historic theater is a gem! - If you are traveling to Galveston, keep an eye on its program schedule, because if you see something of interest, go! - I just attended a concert by a country artist who played a stadium the night before in Houston. And, I am so glad that I chose to go the Grand 1984 Opera House instead. It is a small, intimate theater. There is not a bad seat in the house!

So glad you came to The Grand and appreciate your comment on the difference between us and a huge venue. It's so true. I hope you return again and again! We're 125 years old and still going strong! Maureen Patton
