We went to "Dickens After Dark" and were so disappointed! Tickets were $50 - we felt we got very little for our money. The entertainment lasted less than 20 minutes, and had been free on the Strand earlier in the day. The hostess was rude to our group and several other groups.

There is an eclectic mix of artwork and exhibits that are displayed at this arts center on the Strand. Some of it is bizarre. Some of it is really cool. It's always worth stopping in (it's free) and wandering through. It takes just a few minutes. They also offer some fun

I know the Galveston art community struggled to renovate this historic building after taking on about 12 feet of water during hurricane Ike and was happy to finally take a tour. The building is well maintained and there are exhibits upstairs as well as down. The main exhibit

I don't know about the Arts Center itself, but they sponsor the Art Walk which happens about every 6 weeks on a Saturday evening. I have managed to catch it twice and it is a really fun evening outing. You wander down Post Office Street ( I think) in and out of various art
