I chose this tour for me & my family because, #1: it had no reviews (I like giving things a chance), #2: the website stated it was only 2 weeks new, #3: It said "AIR CONDITIONED BUS", #4: Complimentary bottled water, #5: Free map & Activity booklet for kids. That there alone was enough positives to make me forget the other tours I had in mind. The tour itself was about 45 min. Our driver, Tamika was super funny & had me rollin'. Our speaker was so sweet and helpful when we asked about things around town. The bus was so comfortable and they had that a/c kickin'. It really was an enjoyable trip. We learned tons of things and the map was a really nice souvenir. They also ask you to keep your receipt so that you can use it if you want to be dropped off at the strand & be picked up later (good for 24 hours from start of tour)That was such an awesome addition. No other tour around Galveston does this. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about the area or just use as a ride to the seawall from strand or vice versa. It was my favorite part of the day.

This was one of my favorite parts of the trip. I took my mother who is on a walker. they were very accommodating and friendly. This was a great way for my mother and I to see the island. She did an amazing job and was knowledgeable of the history of the island.

Both our family and our friends booked with Cool Tours LLC for our transfer from Houston Hobby Airport to our Galveston cruise port. We got the quote for 4 people @ $90 first person and $10 person after therefore a total of $120/ 4 people each way. Steve, the owner, called us when our plane landed and told us where he would be waiting for us. When he transfered us to Galveston, he got all of us cold water to drink on our way there. On the day we got back from our cruise, Steve called us that morning and told us where he would wait for us and was always very prompt. It was so easy and non stressful transfer at all! The only thing we recommend is provide referral discounts and/or group if possible. Thank you Steve!

We used Cool Tours for shuttle transportation back and forth from Houston to the cruise ship terminal in Galveston. They could not have been better. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process. The drivers were always early and provided excellent communication. Vehicles were new. Prices were very reasonable compared to the other shuttles. Would definitely use them again.

Our tour guide Shirley was delightful to spend several hours with. She was full of history, stories and insight of the Galveston area. Her suggestions of places to visit and restaurants to dine at were spot on. We chose the hop on hop off tour, which gave us the ability to take some time on the side to explore various neighborhoods. The bus was clean, sound excellent and who wouldn't be happy with a complimentary ice cold water on a sweltering day? All in all, a great way to introduce yourself to this beach community.

We just got back from our Navigator of the Seas cruise 2 weeks ago (5/18/14), and not only was the cruise great but our shittle service was extraordinary. We used Cool Tours of Galveston, and we were treated wonderfully. The owner, Steve, gave the 6 members of my party a great rate and great service. We had two drivers: Jeff, who picked us up from the airport and transported us to our overnight hotel in Galveston. He came back for us the next morning to drop us at the cruise port.
Upon our return from the cruise, our driver was Sue...she was a HOOT! Since we had a few hours to kill before our flight, she took my group to a great seafood restaurant on the wharf called Olympia. Sue also knows TONS about Galveston. I'd use their services again in a heartbeat.

The driver (Kim) could not have been nicer and more knowledgeable. BUT...the historic tour is $12.00. The Combo is $30.00. When you get to Pier 21 for the dolphin watching, you see the boat only charges $10.00 for the 45 minute tour. That mean they ripped us off for $8.00 per person. I think a couple bucks profit would have been OK....but $8????.
I would encourage you to drive down to the Strand and park using a meter and then a short 1 to 2 block walk to the pier and save LOTS. The $12.00 tour price for the historical tour is appropriate and worth it. Do that separately (Park about 3 blocks north of the seawall on 25th for free).
Admittedly a bit ticked off about the massive over charge for the dolphin watching boat. Not a class move by the company. Just wanting you to get value for your dollar and time.

Thank you for your feedback! I am so glad that you enjoyed your tour and tour guide! I appreciate your comment regarding the current pricing of our tours and the opportunity to respond. It appears that you may not have been aware that the regular price for our Historic Tour is $17, but we are running it for the special price of $12 this summer. We chose not to apply the same $5 discount to the Combo Tour, due to the much higher operating costs for running the 2.5-hour Combo Tour versus the 1-hr Historic Tour. We currently offer, and will continue to offer, various discount programs for our tours and encourage our guests to take advantage of whichever services make the most sense to them. We know that our guests are wise shoppers and are able to make the best decisions for themselves in terms of convenience, value, and price.

We did the city tour and dolphin excursion. Awesome city tour guide Kim is not a scripted tour guide. She grew up in Galveston and has studied and continues to study the island's history. Been to the island many times but never took a historical tour until now. There is so much that happened here besides the great storm. My family couldn't wait to get back to our room to do more research on Black history as it relates to the island. So so much happened here. I think the dolphins know the Captain because there were so many of them just dancing around the boat it was like they were telling him hello. Great thing is we had a mixed group of ages 6, 13 and 15 plus parents and we all had a blast.

The Land and Sea Tour with Cool Tours was amazing. The land tour gave us a quick view of the city with the historic sites of Galveston. Lots of interesting history in this small city. The tour guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. The sea tour was amazing. We got to view a school of playful dolphins. Whole tour was a little over 2 hours and worth every penny of the $27.00 fee.

We added this tour as part of a Galveston package deal. Search for the Galveston vacation site and look under "things to do on a budget". We then decided to upgrade to the harbor tour, an extra $15 per person, paid at the time of the tour. We bought everything we could before our vacation which helped out.
