The tour was great! We were on a golf cart going through Galveston and the guide really knew his stuff! A little history, tree sculptures, and the restaurants that are local to the island. We have been to Galveston numerous times and we learned so much on the tour. I would definitely recommend! It's about 45 minutes to an hour... More

This tour is very informative and even captured the attention of some of the youngest in our group. We enjoyed learning of the devastation and recovery of the island. Had no idea of the rich culture of the area prior to taking this tour.

The Galveston Historical Society Annual Historical Tour of old homes this year was absolutely fantastic. Each of the 10 homes on the tour were hosted by docents who provided excellent tours. It was great glimpse into the past, and an even better glimpse at what one can do with an old house. I highly recommend the tour. A word of... More

The first two weeks in May, Galveston Historical Foundation offers their annual Tour of Historic Homes. Ten homes are offered and docents will give you history and lead you through these wonderful structures. Usually one of the homes is a "work in progress" which gives you a good idea of what goes into restoring one of these old beauties. Here... More

A narrated tour with a person who loves the area, pointing out historical places. Explaining architecture, the hurricanes and their affect on the city, pointing out the tree sculptures and the fountains, and tells how the silk-stocking area got it's name. I recommend this tour.

This was a waste of time & money. The young fellow operating the tour doesn't use any microphone device. Good luck hearing anything he says over the traffic noise, unless you're sitting in the one seat next to him. Also, it seems that having a reservation doesn't actually reserve a spot for you since he turned away 2 couples with... More

Thank you for your review, and I mean that. I take the time to respond to all my reviews both good and bad. I don't use a mic because the speakers aren't good. You wouldn't have heard me any better, and the radio is broken. Also, I wish you would've said something. I could've talked louder and turned back so... More

If you love history, this is the tour for you. Not only do you get to see the beautiful homes from the outside, you get a chance to "peep" inside of some of the most historic homes on the island.

What an amazing history this town has had. The tour operator was great but was sometimes hard to hear. Would recommend everyone take this tour to learn about the town and see the unique buildings!

I took my 23 year old son and his girlfriend on this tour - we all enjoyed it a great deal. We did it on our first full day in Galveston and we learned a great deal about the city that helped us the rest of the week as we decided what to do.
