Lovely in September

I have always heard that the beaches in Galveston weren't good at all. False. The city recently brought in something like, 800,000 tons of sand dredged from the Gulf to expand their beaches, and it's resulted in some amazing swimming areas. The Seawall makes accessing them super easy. Parking took us a minute to figure out (you have to download... More

Had a relaxing and romantic weekend at the Galveston Seawall. Watching the sunrise from the Seawall was a highlight. The waves crashing over the rocks was so peaceful.

The water quality and temperature were great for wading and swimming in late September. There are lots of crabs and sea birds to see if you sit still for long enough to observe. Some of the washed up trash at the base of the seawall was unsightly, but I suppose that cant be helped as long as people keep putting... More

Even though it was late September the water was really warm. Lot's of sea and shore birds too. Watching the storms roll in and out was sooo cool!

Despite the rainy weather, loved driving around the area and especially along Seawall. Parking was available on the street to stop and walk along the sand.

Beach was quiet, water great - good for some distance swimming and a little body surfing. It was very clean. Make sure you cross Seawall at a light - traffic is heavy!

We walked the beach and the seawall saves the town from flooding. We had easy acess to the beach from our hotel. We got in the water and had a great time. Walking the beach in the morning and evening is peacful.

The Seawall is great! Ocean and beach on one side. Restaurants bars and hotels on the other. There are plenty of things to do to avoid getting bored and still able to take in the culture and enjoy the Ocean.

When you visit Galveston, you visit the Seawall. It is part of life. After the 1900 Hurricane, the original seawall was built and the structures on the island side were raised 15 ft to protect from flooding. When you visit discover the history of the island and the seawall to uncover what devastation and perseverance the local community exhibited to... More

This was the perfect ending to our summer although we were here the 1st day of fall! Such a nice and relaxing place. So any friendly people always willing to stop and just chat. The locals were superb. I see why they love it here. Special place for our daughters first "beach vacation." As she says. I'd recommend this place... More
