I drove this 10 miles of seawall and was amazed at this man made feat. It is truly an incredible project. There are shops and restaurants that you can visit along the boulevard. Parking is all parallel along the seawall and you pay with your...More

This seawall was created after the devastating hurricane of 1900. Now it is lined with shops, restaurants and hotels on one side and nice beaches on the other. A good place to walk or ride a bike.

The history of Galveston includes the many hurricanes that have shaped this area. The sea wall is part of that history and has certainly become a part of the history. Necessary for storm surge protection. The highway running along it gets you around easily with...More

This beach was very nice, always clean and the sunsets were beautiful. One could walk forever, enjoy the fishing piers, go shelling, check out the paintings on the Seawall or just sit and relax - watching the waves come up shore. Be sure to visit...More

We were here in January so it wasn't very crowded and we loved that the sand was so firm that you could walk for miles. It was clean and a nice view of the gulf. There are even public restrooms along the way and benches...More

A neat spot, worth checking out and letting the kids play on the beach. We will certainly come back.

We drove and walk parts of the wall. After watching the movie of the history of the 1900 storm we wanted to take it all in. The engineering behind this is amazing.

There was so much to see. The beach was covered in gorgeous shells (get there early). There are several gift shops and local businesses to browse. Also, with so many restaurants there is something for everyone.

Yes it is a good beach for families. With a very gradual decline, most of the time the water is shallow a good distance from the beach. Yes you can bring your own umbrellas and chairs.
