A half day or so at the strand is almost always a part of any of our family Galveston trips. Our family's two favorite stops "La Kings" for a blast from the past old fashioned ice cream parlor and yummy candy shop, and Admiralty which...More

We loved going through all the little stores. Found some great things. Can't wait to go back for Dickens on the Strand. Visiting the strand is a must while visiting Galveston.

Apparently weeknights between Thanksgiving and Dickens on the Strand is a dead time. Really disappointed as the stores and galleries were closed by 6. Didn't find a restaurant except Fuddruckers and an Italian restaurant.

Very interesting to see all the old architecture in the old part of town. Typical tourist businesses with restaurants, shops, and bars.

Enjoyed the quaint shops, restaurants, the architecture of the preserved buildings. Loved the businesses who offered tables and chairs to sit outside and enjoy a few drinks or cocktails, after walking The Strand and surrounding streets we sat enjoying the sunset.

The Strand is not just tourist shops, there is a wide selection of shops, restaurants, a great ice cream parlour and all in lovely old buildings with lots of charm.

Ditto...didn't see any golf cart tours, just the horse and carriage tour. Not sure the price on that, but it looked like there was a sign on one of the corners.
