Great stop for the gardening enthusiast. Opportunity to purchase seeds for your area, as well as all kinds of garden needs. Also, a small market with local jams, sauces, and foods. Tasting and snacks available.

My husband and I loved this winery. Cozy fire, food, beer and wine. They have it all converted. Server was very friendly and had great suggestions.

My son bought me seeds from this place last year and they did well. This year was my first time to visit. The seeds categorized with a map atop of them to let you know what grows best in that particular area of Texas. Really...More

Fun to shop with wildflowers in pots, seeds or on different products. They also have refreshments that you can have under the outdoor roof.

Took my Son in law and family there. Great ice cream. Nice shady areas to sit and enjoy. I've had no success at growing any seed from there.

Nearly any time of the year something is blooming. Besides seeds for every kind of flower there are pots and statues and all sorts of wonderful things to browse and get for wonderful gifts.

I have visited the Wildseed Farm a couple of times. A little pricey compared to other places close by. Beautiful plants. Good customer service. Not a large selectin of wine. They do have a selection of canned sauces, fruit and vegetables. Worth a stop.

We recommend you broadcast the seeds, then just walk them in. We call it the Bluebonnet Stomp down here. You don't want the seeds to go more than twice the width of the seed into the ground. You should have been sent a... More

First time visitor to Fredericksburg (0 Replies)
I'm planning a trip next weekend to Fredericksburg for the first time. Thoughts on itinerary... Fri: arrive by lunch, get keys to cabin rental, locate cabin rental and check in. Visit Wildseed Farms to check out to avoid crowd on Saturday for festival. Hike Enchanted Rock and watch sunset Sat: Shopping on Main Street, check out Luckenbach, maybe visit a winery or the National Museum of the Pacific War. If anyone has any other suggestions or tips, I am welcome to them and to altering...More

no car? What else can I see in SA (6 Replies)
Hi, I will be in SA in early Sept with my husband who has a conference and will be in meetings all day. We are staying on the River Walk. Beside River Walk and the Alamo - what else can I see without a car. I understand it will be very hot and doing anything outdoors during the day may be tough. Would you agree? I love to walk! Read about Wildseed Farms - any way I can get there? Shopping - local crafts, jewelry, scrapbooking, quilting - any suggestions. Thanks for your advice.

When I was there a few years ago, we took a narrated trolley tour. It was a hop on/hop off type tour, that originated from the Riverwalk. It allows you to stop and walk when and where you want, and you just catch the next trolley that comes along. All the major areas were covered. It will be hot still in early September, dress lightly.

My trip to Fredericksburg (7 Replies)
My sister and I just completed a weeks trip to Texas and had a great time. We flew into Austin, rented a car and hit the road. We stayed at the Peachtree Inn & Suites, cute little cottages, within walking distance to all the shops. We opted to drive, since we had a foot issue. City offers great, free street parking. We always parked about a block off main street, towards the river. The parking on main street is diagonal so involves backing into heavy traffic. The place we stayed was...More
