About
Wildseed Farms is located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, just seven miles east of Fredericksburg, Texas. Come by and see us seven days a week, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Bring the camera and capture the ultimate in wildflower photographs! We have 200 acres of wildflowers in various stages of development here on the farm. Springtime visitors will likely see Texas bluebonnets, red corn poppies, phlox, and a gorgeous array of other spring flowers. Summer visitors will enjoy cosmos, sunflowers, zinnias and other warm weather bloomers. In the fall, the fields are planted for the following year's color, but our Nursery is well stocked with a variety of choices for fall planting and colorful pumpkins adorn the grounds around The Shops at Wildseed Farms which are brimming with delightful gifts for home and garden. And don’t forget to browse our incredible selection of wildflower seeds as well as our seven regional mixes for anywhere in the U.S.

This place is beautiful if you enjoy wildflowers, perusing a plants, and watching hummingbirds. They have a sweet boutique of garden wares and seeds, soaps, and other garden themed decor. The property has a winery and eatery. We opted for the winery room and was a little thrown off by the service we received. The host seemed to be bothered we wanted to come in and drink wine. Then, once inside (which is beautiful) it continued to be awkward when we had to ask for a glass of wine and if they served food. In that area they offered a charcuterie board, hummus, and some other light selections which was perfect but again it felt like we were the ones having to ask for the information. We ordered everything at the bar and there was no waitress after that so we passed on ordering a 2nd glass. However the food was perfect and the view quite pretty. I would only recommend this winery as a quick stop but not some place to spend any length of time at. I wish I could review it separately (I would rate it poor for service) but the farm itself is awesome and so were those employees. I’m not sure what the disconnect between the two might be.

It's now spring and they have tons of spring plants. Today they had a guitarist playing in the afternoon which gave a relaxing feeling to our wanderings. Their selection of pots, plants, seeds and outdoor decor was fun to see. They have wine tasting, snacks and gift shop to browse when you're done with the outside items. There's a nature walk and seasonally a butterfly section that gives you time to meander.

While we were too late for the bluebonnets we enjoyed our visit immensely. You can see the beautiful field where the flowers grow and we did see some Blackeyed Susans and the new winery they have planted now. Inside is a gem. There are beautiful gifts to be had along with many varieties of books and seeds. They have a very nice restaurant where the ice cream is wonderful and they also have a wine tasting room. We were there on a Sunday and there was a man in the wine tasting are that was playing his guitar and singing. We enjoyed that with our wine and ice cream. We could have stayed all day.

Tourist trap....very disappointed...my wife and I were the only ones in the store and none of the 5 employees throughout the complex even bothered to say hello or welcome to our store. Upon checkout, I used my VIsa debit card and was charged an extra 3% because it was not cash....spent the last 4 days in Fredericksburg and NO ONE charged this convenience fee. Felt like the prices were too high and the customer service was terrible.

The place was immaculate and well-kept and definitely had alot of selection.

It might be due to the drought, but there is nothing to this place. Yes, they have plenty of plants for sale. So do many plant nurseries that are a stone-throw away from where I live. The prices here were a tad too high in my opinion. Yes, there is a small field where they have some wild flowers growing, but it is forgettable. Some of the other fields are filled with dead plants. Sad.

The prices of the decorations are absurd. Who pays that much for talavera??? I was also shocked to see how much the food products (the jams, preserves, etc) were. The olive oil, which I have had before, was insanely expensive. You can get organic EVOO imported from Greece and Italy cheaper than what these people are charging.

I am sure the grounds are nice to walk around when things are in bloom, but this time was a bust.

We toured their property and butterfly garden. The plants on display for sale are a garden unto themselves! Gift shop sells all sorts of seeds and fifty things. Restaurant sells sandwiches and other items. They sell an extensive array of sauces, jellies and honey, but beware as we found same items much cheaper elsewhere in Fredericksburg. They also sell Becker and other wines.

My wife and I have been going there each year for the past 6-7 years. It was a great place with beautiful butterfly gardens , fields of poppies and seasonal plants. Great outdoor music and good food and great merchandise selections for outdoor living. We were so excited to go after pandemic. But when we arrived what a disappointment. The butterfly garden was overrun with weeds, dead plants and trees and totally unkept. The store had about half the normal inventory and just a small selection of plants. We did not spend a dime there and usually it is $100 or more. The fields were all unplanted just dirt. Will not be back.

A very large gardens full of all kinds of beautiful native Texas plants and some that weren’t native to Texas. The shop in the store inside has every kind of seed imaginable. If you’re a plant lover you will not be disappointed

Although March is a big too early to enjoy the blooming wildflowers and gorgeous colors, we still enjoyed our afternoon there. The grounds are beautiful, gift shops present unique gardening related items, and the cafe has delicious sandwiches. It was a nice, relaxing time. Hopefully will be back someday during the season.

This is a very interactive place as there is a lot to do and it is kid friendly. Their gift shop has a lot of neat and beautiful things and the bistro supplies a place for refreshments and seating. We did a tasting here and the wines did not meet my expectations. The goat cheese plate with a baguette loaf was really good. While the wines here are not for me, I would gladly return because it is a unique and homey place that is extremely welcoming to all.
