Have been to URBANherbal twice now. Both times (a) Bill Varney proved a delighfully knowledgeable and enthusiastic proprietor and (b) the wares were distinctive, special, steeped in herbal goodness. I am addicted to the refreshing and soothing cedar vanilla spray, and my baked goods now have the delicious added benefit of the mandarin orange bourbon vanilla extract.

This is my favorite place to visit in Fredericksburg. It is one of those jewel box stores - small but so incredibly special. The lotions and bath gels are sublime. I cannot live without the candles - lovely scents and not overpowering like so many these days. The vinegars are incredible. The coffee fig balsamic vinegar is unbelievable. I have to have another bottle every time I go in. This is the one place I will shop for gifts - they are unique, the highest quality and so special. I am hoping I will be in town long enough at some point to take the cooking classes - they look wonderful. Lots of herbs and fresh food ideas. I have to make a trip here every time I am in town!

If you enjoy unique experiences and appreciate artistic talent then you must visit Urban Herbal. Bill has the most wonderful small batch vinegars I have ever tasted! I’ve been cooking with a variety of his infused vinegars for years and they are a staple in my kitchen. My kids even love it and ask me to make that “herb salad dressing” all the time. We love it over salad with strawberries and shredded chicken. There is an array of great products for the home & uncommon gifts. It’s definitely worth checking out!

Purchased $100 gift card for my mom who just had cancer surgery. This place does not exist. My parents live in Fredricksberg and we are in Colorado so I just wanted to do somthing nice for both of them due to both having health scares and issues this year. My mom said they called the place and the guy stated they no longer have this location but they could spend their gift card online. There was NO online or way to spend it. I will now be calling my bank for a refund. Please buyer BEWARE.

Off the beaten path a bit in Fredericksburg, but definitely a must visit if you like herbs, cooking or gardening. The herbal products are amazing and creative--all created by owner, Bill Varney. Bill is passionate about herbs and it shows in all that he does.
I need to plan a visit to take one of his cooking classes. I envy those who live nearby this gem of a shop.

URBANherbal is a wonderful spot that is off the beaten path, quiet, lovely, and a perfect place to find something special that is made with love by Bill Varney/owner. His gardens and plants are inspiring, his herbal expertise goes into each item in the lovely gift shop (herbal infused vinegars, perfumes, candles, lotions, salts. Charming greeting cards and a perfect spot to pick up something uniique and classy for a hostess gift or special occasion. On top of all that, Bill offers cooking classes. Today's was all about appetizers. It was fabulously relaxing and I now have 12 DELICIOUS and simple appetizers that I can't wait to make and share. It's just a wonderful place!

I cannot write enough good about this lovely gem of a store! From their greenhouse full of herbs to their store stocked with mostly home-made herbal goodies by Bill himself, to his wonderful little dancing pug, and, finally, the awesome cooking classes there provided by certified chefs! You can easily spend 10 minutes here or half a day depending upon what you want to do. The cooking classes are held in a very nice building on-site. You will get plenty of attention and have a great time learning something new. Bill spent a long time with us in the greenhouse, answering questions about plants we weren't familiar with. We also loved his store and bought some gardening tools we had never seen before (and that's hard to do with our family!). We also bought some of his products and were quite pleased with every one of them. Bill's store is not too far off the main drag and we were so glad we visited! I would recommend URBANherbal to anyone going to Fredericksburg! We will certainly be back!

You must allow yourself the pleasure of visiting Urban Herbal while in Fredericksburg, TX, visit the gift shop, award winning scents, soaps, oils and more. The cooking classes are unmatchable for a time to enjoy great food in a fine atmosphere and recipes for you to try later. Then, tour the greenhouse for herb plants to take home. Dont miss it.

The gardens are enough to get lost in on a cool spring or autumn day. In the winter and summer, you may find yourself gazing at art in the two galleries located onsite. All this if you have some time to wander – which I recommend. In order to get a sense of the experiences that it takes to make the wonderfully enriching scents and items that are for sale inside the house, it is wonderful to immerse yourself in the environment in which these are cultivated and lovingly rendered by the owner, Bill Varney. Bill's rich experiences allow him to bring a room alive with one of his room sprays, or a sense of being surrounded by flowers with one of the body oils. His men's fragrances will likely bring a couple closer just to share the experience. Have I mentioned this is an "experience"? You can certainly show up, smell a couple things, make your purchase and go. However, if you have some time to spend Off-Main Street in Fredericksburg, I recommend finding yourself filling your senses and your soul at UrbanHerbal.

Bill Varney has a unique garden displaying many herbs and perennials. The gardens are pristine! Many herbs are for sale. Bill makes all his herbal products at his shop. I will definitely visit his shop again!
