Great tasting location on the Fredericksburg Wine Trail! Great location in the country! The hostess was friendly and very informative about the winery! Any place that offers "Kinky Friedman" Cigars with their wine is a "have to go" place! Lots of other wine accessories!

I enjoyed this winery because it was off the beaten path and was a little more of what you would expect from a Texas winery as opposed to California. It was so laid back. The staff were all great and super friendly. There was live music and some great vino.

We really enjoyed our tasting here. Our tasting hostess was lively, engaged and made us feel very welcome. The stories the wine maker presents on the labels are worth the visit but the wines are good as well. A bit of drive from the other wineries we visited but worth the trip. Recommended by our innkeeper.

Charming winery -- a little out of the way, but that's what GPS is for. The folks there were so sweet -- welcoming both me & my pup (this is a dog-friendly winery). The wines were wonderful. You can't beat $10 for a 5 wine tasting (& you even get to keep the wine glass). In addition, they were offering... More

There are many incredible "Hill Country " wineries, especially in the Fredericksburg area; this is not one of them. The interior of the tasting room is like an old western saloon, nothing impressive. The wine was average and overpriced for the quality. We had heard they had a wood fired pizza oven,no one was making pizza. They offered up a meat... More

It's really out of the way so bring a map or GPS. Live music on some weekends. Lots of wine to sample. Neat little drive on the West side of Fredericksburg, on the way to Harper Texas. And friendly animals.

Generally speaking, I don't like the touristy wine traps in Fredricksburg but this one is amazing. I have been here several times and it's still one of my favorites. Visiting wineries is my hobby and I've been to at least 200 wineries. It's a tough job but someone has to do it. It is quiet a journey to get to... More

Well I am impressed with the atmosphere. Great location and pretty good wine. What left us disappointed was when we walked in there was a couple sitting at one end of the bar, one couple middle of the bar, and us. The owner and her assistant. While we waited the owner approached us and we asked if we could sample... More

We did not know it, but we saved the best for last on our 5 Winery visit to Texas's Fredericksburg winery trail. We had visited 4 other winery's prior to visiting Chisholm Trail Winery, about 9 miles out of Fredericksburg off of Highway 290. What neat friendly place. The service was personal, the area for tasting was open and decorated... More

I'm so glad we drove out of Fredericksburg to visit Chisolm Trail. This is my new fave. The wine is really tasty, but I very much enjoyed the pretty drive and the Texas hill country atmosphere once you're out there. Plus, I love their bottle labels.
