Did a quick little drop by and enjoyed the sweet wines for an hour. Took the little one to see the animals outside and enjoy the beautiful sunshine. The property is nice, like a rustic style restaurant inside. No pizza oven on the day we came, so we didn't try the food. Would return for the wines!

Just a little ways west of Fredericksburg lies the best little winery in Texas, Chisholm Trail Winery. As a connoisseur of sweeter wines, my wife found their Ghost Rider in Houston and loved it immediately. So as a must with our Cottonwood Wine Tour out of San Antonio, we had to visit Chisholm Trail.

Upon arriving, Elizabeth and Chris greeted us and made us feel right at home. They not only helped us with our tastings but took some extra time to visit with us and get to know us some. We never felt rushed or pushed to buy anything. Trust me, the products will sale themselves.

If you are planning a trip to Fredericksburg or taking a Texas hill country wine tour, make sure you include Chisholm Trail Winery. Make sure to try the frozen peach bellini with a shot of Ghost Rider. You will not be disappointed.

I adore Ghostrider. It is the only wine I drink and have to drive 8 hours in order to purchase. The winery has a sitting area with photo booth costumes and props for fun. The staff is outstanding and can help you find the perfect wine.

Try the sampling of wines, you'll find Ghost Rider is the best. Award winning. Get a Peach Melba if they are serving and add the Ghost Rider. Heaven! Then, pop around the corner of the room and order a fresh made pizza in a big stone oven. This was the best pizza I've ever had in my life including ones I've had in NY and NJ (sorry, guys) so don't miss it! There are a hundred wineries in Fredericksburg, but don't miss this one! Check their website for hours of operation and pizza times. When the dough is sold out- the pizza part will close!

This place is great! I don't normally like dry wines, but these were amazing. They also have a nice selection of sweet and dessert wines, but I was pleasantly surprised with the dry selection. We actually joined the wine club, and we don't normally do that. You won't leave disappointed.

This winery is on the west side of town as opposed to the large number of winery's on the east side of town which are all within walking distance of each other. But is is worth the drive. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and make your "wine tasting" a "wine experience". A fun atmosphere and the pizza is very good. We will go back when we get back is this area.

I wanted to like this place. The venue is cute and would be a nice place to hang out for a while. However the wines were all sweet. Another big disappointment was the lack of pizza. We arrived on Saturday right at noon planning to have lunch and wine there before continuing on to other wineries. I checked the website and Facebook page to be sure they were open and served pizza. We arrived and the pizza cook had the flu, so no pizza. This put a major wrench on our plans for the day as we were left to drive around and find food.

Scenic drive to the winery- keep an eye out for animals on each side of the road. Definitely off the beaten path and we were lucky and pretty much had the place to ourselves.

Very laid back atmosphere with live music and outdoor games. Dog and kid friendly! Wine was $12 for 5 tastings and you get to keep the glass. Bring some crackers + cheese and sit outside and enjoy the view!

Nice tasting room. Good variety of sweet and dry wines. Bad _ _ _ Blush was my favorite. They have a wood fire pizza oven in the back that puts out delicious pizzas (menu included in my pics). There is a lovely waterfall area across the road down the hill. The decor is that of a saloon and they have hats and boas if you feel the need to be in costume.

Called this place to see how much longer they were open, so were very close to closing but they were still willing to do a tasting for us. They are more known for their reds, and although I am not a huge red drinker I really did enjoy theirs. The two gentlemen working the counters were very fun to talk with and kept a good convo going throughout. There is also a little patio area so one may sit outside and enjoy the countryside. There is also a fire brick pizza available, however because we got there so late we were unable to try; but have heard good things about it. Would definitely come back here for lunch and a glass of wine to enjoy the afternoon.
$12 per tasting (for 5 pours, I believe), they didn't give us the glass though. We left with The Outlaw (Barbera), and were nice enough to give us a military discount.
