Many shops, restaurants, and historical attractions.

Main Street is a fun place to walk, shop, and if you get hungry or thirsty, have a great meal and something cold to drink.

We stopped in Fredericksburg to kill some time between stays. We took the kids to the playground in the square and then hit up a couple of shops along Main Street. The shops were fun and eclectic, just not really appropriate for young kids. I think it would be fun for a girls day out, just not the best idea... More

This is a beautiful historic town, that offers a main street full of shops, restaurants, music, crafts, or most assuredly whatever you're looking for you can find here. We have come here for years and are always welcomed with smiles in the shops by the owners/staff. Christmas time is also a good time to come to Main St. The streets... More

If you want to go into the shops -- walk main street before 5pm on weekdays and 6pm on weekends before they close. If you want a quiet peaceful walk to window shop and then grab dinner go after the stores close as it will be much nicer, cooler and less people. Middle of week after 6pm and main street... More

Whew! So many things to see. We only had an afternoon but I can see it taking 1 or 2 days. Really have to be into shopping and walking/ambling but the stores are all different and exciting. Lovely street with shaded areas and benches for rest and people watching. Huge variety of restaurants. Ask the locals for recommendations. In our... More

After living in Germany, I came expecting to eat and see more German influence. Expensive boutiques are common in tourists towns everywhere, so those shops are not unique. I was disappointed in the lack of German or Texas culture. I wanted to buy books about Texas history, and could not find one anywhere! I wanted to buy a book specific... More

Always enjoy browsing the shops here. This time my girlfriends was a lot of fun. Big enough to spend a day but not so big that you feel like you'll miss a lot if it's a short trip.

I was really excited to check out the shops here. The restaurants are actually great but some of the shops were just junk, I'm surprised they're in business. Almost 90% of the places shut down at 5 or 6, some at 3pm! Kinda disappointing.

There is a good mix of shops and restaurants. The sad part for us is that so many shops closed at five. We would had gone in then had they been open. Some restaurants were closed on Monday and Tuesdays. These were the nights we were in town.
