We were so disappointed in our visit to The Rockbox. We left very early as the Howl At The Moon dueling pianos act was horrible. We have heard much better music just sitting in a bar. But to have actually paid for this event with was such bad music was a bit of a shock. We went back to our hotel and listen to amazing piano music in the bar. Shortly after we got there, six other people walked in who would also left the show early. I’m not sure how many people were there at the end of the show, but it appeared to be significantly less than the amount that were there when it started.

Cute venue. Fun entertainment. Just do not order tickets ahead of time online because if even its for health reasons, you cannot get a refund and even worse you cannot get a credit to use at a later date. I'm speaking from experience; I lost almost $400 by planning ahead and purchasing tickets ahead of time off the website.

They should cancel a performance when they know it is horrible and does not represent their Theatre well. HOWL at the MOON was a disaster to put it mildly. What was really embarrassing, we had bragged about how we loved Rockbox to the couple we went with. This was their first time and probably last. So bad we left during the second song.

The venue was nice but the Howl At The Moon dueling pianos they brought in from the club in San Antonio was terrible. Neither could sing worth a darn. What was insulting was the constant hitting up for tips despite a $36/seat ticket price. While that makes sense at the bar, it’s inappropriate in this setting. We couldn’t escape fast enough.

Love this intimate venue! This was our second time to attend a show and we will definitely return. The theater is very clean with comfortable seating and the staff is wonderful. We enjoyed the small venue and the interaction with the artists.

we have never been to the Rockbox. We love quaint theaters in small towns. This venue is perfect!!. We saw 7 Bridges - a Eagles tribute band and they were nothing short of fantastic. The staff at the Rockbox are so great and accommodating. Bathroom impeccably clean. we are returning in April for the Heart tribute band and we can't wait!

Saw Reckless Kelly there on 10/21. Band was great and so was the venue. Crowd was a little rowdy, but look at the entertainment. Full bar and clean restrooms. Over all a clean establishment.
If the show was right, I'll go there again.
Only negative thing was that Reckless Kelly's lead in act was not good.

Prior to 2020 when an emergency arose one could ask for and get a refund. Recently my partner had COVID; was in the hospital and we could not make the show. Rockbox now as a NO REFUND policy. I was told to find someone else to take or purchase the tickets. Being almost a 100 miles away and the short time frame, this is impossible.
I'll make sure to pass this on to my friends who do visit Fredricksburg and have to make, normally, an overnight stay.

A new broom sweeps clean. With only four remaining regulars, and then only as backup musicians, meant a sad day for this venue. The four new performers are young and their best attribute you can say about them is - they are energetic. Two males and two females that only sing soprano and alto, with almost no voice inflections when trying to mimic the artist they were attempting to imitate. Nonstop action is their only good quality. Although they all profess to have "toured the world" it seems highly unlikely due to their relative youth.
The only hope for this venue to survive is having first time tourists come to the show. Anyone that has seen previous shows, and witnessed this performance, will in all probability never return. And they certainly would not recommend for anyone to waste their time to go there.
This used to be called "A hidden treasure of the hill country" the best thing the could do is to be hidden altogether. I can assure you that they will never see me there again! This is from someone, who for years enjoyed the music and variety of the regulars. The new faces only sing and move about the stage. Evidently they have no instrumental talents, other than air guitar.
All in all, the old Rock Box is DEAD, may it rest in peace.
A former ardent supporter and faithful patron.

Dear Helmut E,
I am so sorry that you feel such strong negativity towards our business. We have been putting on shows here in Fredericksburg for 7 years, and there comes a time in every business when they need to update and re-invigorate their entire operation.
We have been committed to making ourselves into a venue that serves a much wider and varied entertainment palate, while still maintaining the core elements of clean entertainment that leaves you feeling better than when you arrived. We will continue to strive for this vision with an active commitment to innovating and improving our customer experiences.
You are always welcome to come and give us a try again, we have so many different types of shows, there may just be something that strikes your fancy again! Just know that you will always be welcome here anytime!

Having been a big fan of Rockbox for the past 5 years, use to be great place with real talent. The past two years it has changed ownership and the aledged talent they have been bringing in, leaves a lot to be desired. One show was some kids from New York, they thought they were the best in showbiz, .news for them, go back to New York.
Last night we went to see Blue brothers, unbelievable terrible, the two that tried to re inact should not have been permitted on stage, what a waste of money and time, we left at intermission. Good bye Rockbox, hope you sell it back to the orginal owners soon.

We are sorry you haven't enjoyed the shows as of recent. We sincerely appreciate your patronage to the ROCKBOX THEATER.
However, the Rockbox Theater stands by its performers, musicians, cast and crew, and staffing of the theater. We only use the highest quality caliber of performers.
You mentioned the Blues Bros. Tribute show, and we must say that almost ALL of the guests thoroughly enjoyed their performance...so much so that the Blues Bros. will definitely be returning to the ROCKBOX THEATER again. Perhaps it wasn't the type of show that you would enjoy. Maybe our GARTH & GOSPEL show coming up on Sept 23-24th would suit you more?
If you do not decide to come back to the RockBox, we will miss you!
Until then...
Sincerely,
Tony

What's happened to the show on April 16 or 17? I saw, earlier in the year, it was gonna be a "Journey" cover band. Tickets weren't on sale when I saw the poster. Now it shows NO SHOW is scheduled.
