Any visit to the Stockyard District likely includes Longhorns...and if you miss the Cattledrive which takes place twice a day, you can still see the Longhorns in the Stables. They are amazing to see and make great photos of your trip!

We visited the Stockyards specifically to see the cattle drive, but also wanted to do some shopping. We didn't find a lot of souvenirs but there were quite a few shops to do some shopping. There was also a train that went right though the...More

How often do you get to stand ten feet away from 2000-lb longhorns? And can you beat "free" for the cost? My kids loved the experience. I would simply encourage the management to give clearer signage leading to the pens.

Enjoyed browsing at the unique shops and restaurants. Also had a great country band playing. Fun way to spend a rainy afternoon.

This place was a lot of fun! If you like the nostalgia of the wild Wild West movies or little house in the prairie you will like it here. We spent about 4 hours or so here. We wanted to see the longhorn cattle walk...More

This place is so worth seeing. Historic, fun, quaint, great original Texas foods of all genres, and MOST OF ALL the stockyard run at 11:00 a.m. daily. They also have an afternoon run. These animals are gorgeous and the cowboys also are entertaining and outfitted...More

Our group of 9 ranged in age from 68 to 8 and we all enjoyed watching the long horn cattle being herded down the street by authentic dressed cowboys on their horses. They were right in front of us as we stood at the curb....More

Not what we expected at all. We were told lots of "great shopping and dining" Shops were all tourist items and very over priced. Bars were very dingy and could use a good cleaning. Also smoking is allowed in the bars. We did not eat...More

Was ok but not great....lots of shops, mostly overpriced. Lots of restaurants, a bar or 2. Cobblestone streets are charming. Enjoyed the Longhorns but the cattle drive was much shorter than I had anticipated. I would go again if there was a restaurant I wanted...More

Multiple times a day they have a cattle drive that comes down the street. A few cowboys mounted on horses lead them past the gawking citizens. It's a really intriguing sight and it's definitely worth snapping a few pictures. Once the cattle have dispersed, you...More
