Lauren was a very good trail guide. Handled a confrontation with wild dogs professionally and got us safely on the way. Sign in on line left confusion with who was a listed person My 8 year was listed on my sign in but then not recognized as a listed guest. Sign in cowboy was quick to solve the problem with a paper sign in. Every thing was professional, friendly and on time.
Worth it ! Go on a trail ride.

I'm very late in posting this review, but the fact that I'm writing it so many months after our initial experience shows how memorable it was! When we arrived for our horseback riding tour in the Stockyards, we were a few minutes past our reservation time due to getting stuck behind an Oktoberfest bike crawl (you can't make these things up) and had missed the start of our tour. We were all disappointed, as horseback riding had been number one on my visiting friend's list. But the Stables team graciously managed to accommodate us and were incredibly flexible in ensuring we still had the tour we'd been looking forward to (before the aforementioned bicycles got in the way). I am not the most comfortable around horses, but the team went out of their way to appropriately match us with the horse best suited to each of us and also helped us rein in the horses along the trail. It was a very calm and content ride for me and my friends, who were visiting from out of state. They had a memorable time and we were so grateful that the day ended up going off so smoothly!

Fantastic ride out with the lovely Lisa. Would urge anybody that is in the area to do this. Really well behaved horses, and Lisa was just the best ever. Gave us both a real insight in to how everything worked, and as a rodeo rider herself, she was telling us about her amazing experiences

Not sure what to expect here, and was very pleased with all we saw and did!
We learned about the longhorns, got to see them up close, & even worked with a cowboy to try our skills roping a longhorn (plastic smaller replica). The staff was informative while making it fun and entertaining.
This is a must visit if you are In the Fort Worth/Dallas area!

Our group of four took a relaxing 1 hour ride down along the Trinity River. We are all experienced riders and enjoyed our horses on the ride. They were attentive and not completely dull like some stable rides. It was a beautiful, relaxing sunset ride.

First off, I’d like to say that the staff was very nice, but there is nothing really to see on the trail ride. It’s not beautiful scenery. Our trail guide was sweet but didn’t know or tell us anything about what we were seeing. It was a waste of our time.

My husband and I were in town celebrating our 10yr and since we got married in Dallas we wanted to come back and experience Fort Worth. Love the Stockyard such an amazing experience so we decide to go horse back riding. It was my first time riding a horse so I was nervous but the staff was great and I really happy we did it. The trails are beautiful and it's a great safe experience :)

This is a nice, leisurely ride that leaves from the stockyards and takes you on a short stretch of trail along the Trinity River. The horses were well trained and it was a beautiful day, so I enjoyed the nature and the unique perspective that comes from being on a horse. The guide was friendly, but there wasn't any commentary, so don't expect a "tour"! :)

The Stockyards "RV Park" is a joke. It is just a dusty lot near the horse pens. NO shade, NO picnic table, NO sewer, NO water, NO wi fi, NO restrooms, NO showers, etc. All this for $50 a day. The only plus is it is walking distance to the Stockyards. We picked up half a dozen beer cans near our "spot". Dirty place.

I went horseback riding with 7 other people, and we were never given helmets when we rode the horses. When we got on the horses, we only had a little time to get accquanted with the horses, and the guide was awful. All the guide did was bark orders at us, and never offered to help us. My horse, thank gosh, was really obedient and did everything I told it to, and stopped when I wanted it to stop. Others, however, had a less than pleasant experience. Most of the other horses hated each other, and upon getting close to each other, decided to almost rear up and scare the riders. One of my family friend's horses decided to stay in the front of the line, and if anyone went in front of it, the horse would take off. About halfway through the trail ride, my father's horse decided to stop abruptly and lean his head forward, making my father fall off of the horse. My father hit both his head and his shoulder. The guide made no attempt to go over and help him, as he was trying to get control over the runaway horse that my dad was riding. My godfather went to my father first, and made sure he was okay. My father, being the joker of the family, decided to say that he was fine, and walked the rest of the way back with my godfather, but after the trail ride was done, he started to feel pain in his shoulder. We took him to the hospital shortly thereafter, and they said he had broken his collarbone in three places and had scratched up his head pretty badly. Luckily, he did not have a concussion, but he was in a ton of pain even after the medication, and has to wear a splint ad a result. Overall, I thought the guide was rude and very ignorant, and the horses did not seem to be the riding type. Also, you should never go to a place that doesnt offer helmets, because it could be dangerous and could result in serious or fatal injury. I know now that helmets are absolutely necessary when riding a horse, even if you're an experienced rider.
