I went with a friend and her son on a week day. It was shortly after there had been a LOT of rain, so many of the trails were closed due to flooding. It was lovely to drive around and their nature center has some great things to see. Helpful educators are happy to share information. I would definitely visit... More

This is the largest Nature center in the us own by a city. There is a child size village, and an old car that has been there since the 60s or so, before it was built. You can go a hundred times and see new stuff everytime. I love hiking here Oh and you cant forget the buffalo and prarie... More

It was the first time I've been there and my brother and I hiked Canyon Ridge Trail. It was fantastic. I only wish that they had a couple signs along the way so you know you haven't gone off the path.

We were disappointed with this refuge because you have to drive to all the locations you want to hike from, and it's quite a distance. We tried walking to the end of Greer Island but were barred by flooding over the path. It's also so grown up that you can hardly see the lake, and there's poison ivy covering the... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, Charrie. I appreciate your honest assessment as that helps us to focus our maintenance efforts. Our rainy weather has put us behind in that area. Once we get caught up after it dries out this summer I hope you'll visit us again later in the year. The park is especially... More

The Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge is a tremendous asset to enjoy year-round. The programs have a lot of variety, something for everyone and all ages. The trails are beautifully maintained, parking is easy and the price is right!

This has all kinds of charm! The walking trails are fantastic! Dog-friendly!! The price is extremely reasonable . The only drawback is the hours of operation are limited.

During that time frame we will open every day at 7:00 am. We will stay open on Saturdays and Sundays until 7:00 pm but will... More

We spent a Sunday afternoon here and it was quiet, peaceful, and lovely. The hikes are varied so you can choose your activity level. If you're going for just the buffalo then you may be disappointed as they don't really roam around like at Yellowstone...they're in an enclosed area but you can definitely get a good picture if you have... We drove an hour to visit this after seeing the great ratings it had, and we were not disappointing! There are several hiking options with a great description of what to expect along each hike.
