The beach is really nice. The $20 fee is not a problem for nor the rules. Its keeps all the tweakers out of the park and those people who think everyone wants to listen to their music. The fee and rules create more of a safe place for families to gather.

Located within an hour of Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is this wonderful clean lake with a soft sandy beach. Many amenities including picnic benches, covered pavilions, grills, volleyball nets, horseshoes as well as clean restrooms and a small store for necessities. Free use of lifejackets is a nice touch as well. The kids love jumping off the floating raft too! Budget tips- The weekday price is only ten bucks and they give out punch cards for a free visit.

Ruined our whole weekend!!! It is very unfortunate that the only way to visit this park is to purchase online parking pass AND REGISTER in their site. A whole invasion of privacy asking questions about head of household information. I called the number listed and the park employee said this was the only option to visit. The site is impossible and never allowed me to register correctly. My kids really wanted to visit and sad to say I didn't even have this hard of a time getting into Disney world. I really hope the parks department addresses the issues because it is NOT USER FRIENDLY AND very difficult to navigate through.

The shore was rocky. I would definitely recommend swimming shoes. It was very crowded on a Saturday, which I did expect but all the shaded areas were taken, so bring a canopy or umbrella JUST in case or reserve a bench. Most of the grassy areas had grass stickers which are painful to step on. So it was very irritating to find a spot to set your chairs down. Water was dirty. Only nice thing was a/c in the restrooms. I’ve found better swimming holes compared to this one. I wouldn’t recommend.

We were there yesterday and crew didn’t have control of gate entrance at beginning of the day letting some people in before it was open and closing back the till 5 minutes after till 1000am... one man dressed civilian treating people like there’s a riot going on when he was ask “why some people were let in and other not. He responded: ” I’m not talking about them I’m talking you here... get in your car.” Shore was dirty... time to explore other options.

This is a good place to bring the family for a lake side gathering. The grounds and the beach are well kept. We brought kids in ages from 4 to 13 and they all had a good time. We arrived as soon as the park opened in order to ensure that we got a covered picnic table with a grill. It was heartwarming to see visitors of various demographics peacefully enjoying a day in the sun. You should read the park rules before going. There are no lifeguards, so you'll need to be vigilant with children.

We used to take our children to this park many years ago when there was a boat buried in the sand for children to climb. It was a fun place to visit at the time. The park is all brand new now and quite beautiful with large shady tree, grass areas, a wonderful sandy beach and large picnic tables for family gatherings. This is a fun place for kids of all ages and if you are lucky, like we were, you can find a nice shady spot to set up your picnic!
