Visited here after the Kimball and was more stimulated by this specifically American collection across multiple formats including sculpture and photography. The Remington and Russell collections are awesome. The special exhibition of additional Western artists was great too. Overall it's relatively small but very well...More

Lucky enough to arrive at the scheduled time for a private docent tour of their collection of American art. Lots of Remington and Russell and many other artists. Beautiful building designed by Johnson.

Smaller than Crystal Bridges in Arkansas, this collection still presents a nice overview of the history of American Art, including some Western art--which formed the basis of the original connection. A short walk from the Kimbell and Modern Art museums--no cafeteria, so eat at one...More

This small, unpretentious museum is filled with beautiful examples of American artists. The outside is nice with a beautiful view. Admission is free and so is parking. So glad we checked it out!

We really had fun here, it's a small museum and the sculptures outside are beautiful and interesting. I wanted my grandson to experience something different and educational in addition to the ballpark.

Adjacent to the Kimball Museum, you should try to do both if possible. The Amon Carter has a very different feel than the Kimball, but what you will see inside is well worth a visit. The permanent collections offer a great chance to see the...More

This place is great if you if Iike American art, especially western and cowboy genres. One of my favorite galleries had folk art which included many naive paintings. Best part, it's free!
