- Frank CCape Coral, Florida413 contributionsMust see.One of the top "Must Do" things in Stockyards! Sit in K Area about Half way up, good seats, great view of everything. Enjoyed all the Bull riding , Yikes! Rope show and Barrell racing was great. Preshow singer, 11 year old , she is great! Food selections , limited, get your selection early, can get busy. We went on a Friday night, less busy than Saturday. The Perimeter has many, many historical and memorabilia, take your time to walk around and look at all the photos, plaques and awards. Sound system was not perfect, you can actually hear better outside the Building! Luckily no one was seriously injured. Enjoyed the roping and Wild Bronc riding. Great place to people watch, also. Staff was Friendly and Informative. Kids would have a great time here, just give them lots of snacks! Almost Sold out, get tickets early, if worried and for better seat selections.Written May 3, 2022
- Tonya670 contributionsFun and Exciting! This is one of the top activities we did on vacation...the Saturday night rodeo. A new experience for us all - it had been years since we had been to a rodeo and it was a first for our son. This rodeo is held every Friday and Saturday night, and is about 2 hours. We bought our tickets online a couple of weeks before but there were tickets available that night. We did get in line fairly early so we would be able to select where we were going to sit. A lot of people coming in near the start time were having to split up because there weren't enough seats together, the majority is general admission. The pre rodeo entertainment was really good, a young female singer and she had a really good voice. As for the rodeo, it was so much fun- our favorite thing was the bull riding, which is how it began and ended. In between was roping, barrel racing, team roping and more. Would definitely recommend this to everyone, this is not something my husband is interested in, but he enjoyed it. A must do when at The Stockyards.Written June 16, 2021
- Neal'sDarwin, Australia53 contributionsWelcome to Texas! What a night! We have been to many fantastic Outback Australian Rodeos, but this... Sensational! We had amazing seats close to the action. Our 6 year old daughter participated in the sheep chase duration the evening. An experience she will never forget. The audience really get behind all the incredible competitors, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The commentary and music along with the talent of riding makes for an amazing family night. We highly recommend visiting Stockyards Rodeo!Written November 5, 2020

It was a rodeo. I have that in my blood! But I received hearing damage by attending. The decibel level during the whole show actually HURT! We had NY visitors with us who said they’ve been to lots of concerts and never heard anything so loud! All five of us kept fingers in our ears, even the children. Would love to but will not return.

I know there have been many positive reviews of this rodeo. If you have never been to a rodeo, you might enjoy this experience. It will help if someone else pays for you. But having been to two or three rodeos in the past, I was disappointed with this one, especially in light of the $30 adult admission price, which is absurdly high for what you get. First, the riders and other performers are not among the most skilled, though I applaud their efforts. Second, the PA system is horrible. I could not understand most of what the announcer said throughout the evening. Third, the presentation was disorganized. Music, the announcer, and video presentations were all jumbled up and often distracted from what was actually happening on the grounds. There was no rhyme or reason to the interplay of these elements. Fourth, there was a lot of patriotism, and some prayer, both of which I are fine with me. But I wasn't sure why an old Ronald Reagan speech was really the best video to contribute to this tone. It just seemed to me that the organizers had gotten a little lazy and no one had bothered to try out something new on the video front. In fact, I think that was the main problem with the whole evening. I did not see any real love for the rodeo expressed in the organization of the event - only a desire to make some money with minimal effort. That is why, at this price, I do not recommend this rodeo. Not even for those who have never been to a rodeo before: save your first kiss for a better kisser.

This was a unique experience and would encourage anyone who hasn't attended a rodeo to go. We only saw the bull riding, none of the other events. For this, the best seats would have been in section C-D (or corresponding across arena) which was not easy to determine when buying tickets. Intermission was said to be 5 minutes max, and it stretched to more like 50 which was MUCH too long! The MC was entertaining but spoke fast enough that it didn't project well into the microphone.

Even though w/COVID there are less riders/participants, they always put on a good show. One suggestion- please have an announcement ending the show. They all do a great job welcoming you and providing background info about the rodeo, but at the end of the night- it just ends. No “thank you for coming/hope to see you again”. Maybe this past Saturday night was a fluke, but people were looking at each other because they weren’t sure it was over.

First time at a rodeo and we had an amazing time. Very happy it was inside due to the heat the area had been experiencing. It started with a young lady singing before the rodeo started and my gosh was she good. Found out later she was only 12. What a voice! Watched in amazement at the skills exhibited by the the men and women in the different events. Beautiful smart horses working with them was great to watch. The arena was packed and everyone was cheering for each and every participant. The excitement and enthusiasm was amazing. They had two different groups of children (based on age) participate in a special event just for them. I've never cheered and laughed so much in a long time.

First ever time at a bull ride, never knew what to expect but wow, crazy.
We watched the bull ride on a Sunday afternoon and it was excellent. Really good entertainment, I was a sceptic to be honest but I really enjoyed it, worth a watch with a beer to see what these guys get up to. Good entertainment all round and worth spending a couple of hours.

We got front row seats since my husband has never been to a rodeo. He and I both thoroughly enjoyed the family friendly atmosphere and the daring bullriders and Broncos, barrell racers and rodeo clowns. They even invite the small ones under 12 to come down to the arena for a few fun games like chasing a calf to retrieve the duct tape on it. Lots of fun. Would highly recommend!

Visiting from the UK and loved it. Brilliant atmosphere and a very fun evening. Only criticism is that people were being admitted after rodeo had started so this meant the lots of standing and moving around to let people into their seats, this meant that visibility was poor at times. Otherwise a very entertaining evening to feel Texas!

We went having never been to a rodeo before and not knowing what to expect at all. We ended up having a fantastic time and are now hooked. A really good, fun and child friendly atmosphere that thrives on audience participation. We booked in advance online but this was not necessary as there were plenty of seats. I cannot recommend it enough.

Are the seats the same in the silver/gold sections? I read that the VIP seats are like high bar seats but the view isn't as good is this true? Basically I'm trying to figure out what seats to get. Any help would be appreciated.

Does the commuter train let off near the rodeo area? And are the pricier rodeo tickets all that better? Thanks!

I don't know about the train; we drove and parked near the police station about 5 blocks away. Lots of empty spaces and free!
We got the cheaper seats but in the middle. We were happy. I don't think there is a bad seat in the place, but if you want to be very close to the action, pay the higher price. Loved the show!

For preferred seating, are the sections for each box right next to each other, or are they truly boxed off so you cant see each other? I am looking at row 2 section 47 and section 48, 2 seats in each section, but want to be sure we will all see each other?

Why do doors open so early (6:30) if the rodeo starts at 8:00? Is there like a pre show?

We went as a tour group, can't remember what time we went there but there were already plenty of people there, able to buy drink and snacks and just soak up the atmosphere, it's a great night out and we would definitely go again.

Hi, what are exactly the advantages of the VIP seats ? Toilets in the near and eating / drinking ? How are the seats and the view ? Comfy ? thx

No bad seats in the house. I don't know what the advantages are of VIP. We paid $20.00 general admission day of event, sat up high in the middle. You can sit anywhere you want, seats are not assigned. The rodeo we saw was in a building. They serve snacks and drinks. There is another area outside where they also do rodeo's. There was a band playing in the courtyard when the rodeo was over. Good music, It was a fun night! Next door to Billy Bobs restaurant & bar.
