This has to be the best zoo I have been to. It has everything that you could ever expect from a zoo and more. We spent all day and wished we had more time. The whole family had a awesome time and will never forget...More
Pricing is half off on Wednesdays which is wonderful. Arrive early to avoid the crowd. Love being able to watch some of the animals being fed. My kids favorites are always the primates. They also really enjoy the enclosed area where they can hold a...More
This is a place worth checking out if you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The zoo has a mix of native and exotic species.I went on a Monday and the place was not packed, but pretty full. The parking lot was full, including school...More
The Fort Worth ZOO is awesome. Visited with our grandchildren ages 8 and 5 and their Parents. Did not give it the highest rating because the San Diego would receive five stars. The Fort Worth ZOO is the best in the area. Well laid out...More
I enjoyed my visit. There was a good variety of animals, and views are generally fairly close. In some cases animals can be viewed on more than one level as the zoo is built on a slight hill. Beware there is a $5 parking fee...More
I was a guest at Fort Worth Zoo this week as i attended an event. We were very well looked after and I found the attractions well laid out, the entry fee reasonable, the cafeterias also reasonable and the variety of animals was vast. It...More
Best zoo ever!!! The new African savanna is mesmerizing. It is a must visit place whenever you find yourself in Fort Worth. We are members, and will renew again, as we take our family members whenever they come for a visit.
We will be visiting Dallas for the first time 2/28-3/4. The weekend will be taken up by a cheer competition, I am trying to come up with an itinerary for our remaining time some ideas are: the aquarium, Ross Perot science center, and/or either Dallas or Fort Worth zoo. We will have a rental car so travelling is not a concern. I would welcome any thoughts/opinions about my choices. Thanks!

Also consider the walkable Historic Stockyards in Fort Worth and I just came across the well reviewed "Segway Fort Worth". If you've never enjoyed a Segway tour, you'd be in for a treat (weather permitting)! I believe Dallas also has a Segway tour group.

I really like the Fort Worth Zoo--it often is mentioned as one of the best smaller zoos in the country but is still large enough to have lots of things to interest everyone Very manageable. Nice kid's area as well. An added bonus is that it isn't too far from celebrity chef Tim Love's very interesting take on BBQ at his Woodshed Smokehouse restaurant near the Trinity trails. You could visit the zoo, drive over and have lunch, and then a nice walk along the trails. Also check out the hours...More

Hello! I am in the beginning stages of planning a visit to the area. My question after some research is whether this is all do-able in 1 day in Dallas? *quick visit of Dealey Plaza (not musuem) *Pioneer Plaza Arboretum? *Reunion Tower observation deck *Perot Museum Evening at Medievel Times My boyfriends daughter is 8 so trying to mix adult interests with her attention span. Elsewhere in the itinerary we will hopefully hit Legoland Discovery Center in Grapevine as well as for...More

Firat, San Antonio is a five hour drive from Dallas so not a day trip. How many days and nights will you be where in Dallas and Fort Worth? Dallas World Aquarium is fun for everybody so consider that as well.
