Beautiful? Sure?
Comfortable? I’d rather be on a transatlantic Spirit flight for 10 hours. It would have better seat pitch and width. I’m 6’3” 190 pounds and I have sit with my legs either spread wide (if the seat in front is directly centered) or sit completely sideways (if the seat in front is off center).
And a double Maker’s and Coke will set you back $34. The State Fair would be ashamed to charge that! And I believe that would only be $14 on the aforementioned Spirit flight.

On Wednesday, at the Majestic Theatre, during the Christopher Cross concert, I fell down the stairs going to the ladies room. At the bottom of 20+ stairs I looked up and saw my shoes on the 3rd step from the top. Some very kind strangers saw me fall and attended to me. The manager took my shoes and disappeared until one of these people went looking for them and some help from the Majestic staff.
Eventually a woman with MT came down with a notebook and asked my name and phone number. But the two strangers remained. They even asked if she would take their names and numbers as witnesses. The woman said that would not be necessary.
Finally someone went to get Gary and the kind strangers were shooed away. I was put in a wheel chair and rolled to the front entrance, where he came to get me. The MT woman rechecked my name and number when I asked for hers. But she told me not to worry she would call on Thursday to check on me, I could get that info then. She also whispered in my ear that she couldn’t give me a refund on my tickets for the evening but would like to offer me tickets to another show.
The point of this post is that first, I would like to find the kind strangers who helped me and thank them. And secondly, I want to let others know that there was never anyone who contacted me or my husband...at all!!!
I was truly blessed in the fact that I did not break anything. I suffered a concussion, (hitting my head at least 4 times), whiplash, sprained ankle and bruises and abrasions.
The kindness of strangers was a wonderful gift and I would like to thank them. And as for those at the Majestic Theatre, Dallas, shame on you for not taking better care of your patrons!

I have been to the Majestic several times over the years, but it had been a while since my last visit until I went two days ago to see Morrissey. First of all, the staff is top notch. They are classy and respectful and make you feel welcome. From the ladies who helped us find our seats to the usher showing us to the restrooms, they were professional and courteous. The seats are comfortable, and because the venue is somewhat small, there are not too many bad views. (Granted, we had a front row seat in the mezzanine, so I am biased.) The only downside would be the costs on the drinks - way overpriced, so we skipped those on principle. This is a gem of a place that has been preserved and updated, and the result is an old Hollywood glamour feel along with the needed upgrades and maintenance.

I've been to 2 comedy shows here in the last year or so and both times I've had positive experiences. The first time we sat up in the balcony area, which was fun, but a little cramped. What do you expect? It's not a brand new venue! On my most recent visit, we sat in the pit, 2nd row. Perfect leg room. Perfect seating. It's such a beautiful old world theater. I love coming here and can't wait for the next show!

First time at the Majestic. Have lived locally for 20 years and never been here before. Could not find any discounts for the event anywhere. When we arrived after fighting traffic and finding a semi-affordable place to park we were told the mezzanine was being closed and we were told to stand in a line to get new tickets. We did not receive equivalent seats and did not buy tickets in advance so that we could stand in a line.
Also, the back door was left open 20 minutes into the show which allowed the noise from the lobby to drown out the performers. Very distracting since we ended up in the last rows next to the door. Again, not the tickets we purchased. Will never attend a performance at this location ever again. So very disappointing.

Wednesday evening August 23rd found my wife and I at the the Majestic Theater in downtown Dallas for the Michael Franti and Spearhead concert This was our first visit here in many years. It was fantastic. Parking was easy despite some ill reviews for parking at the Majestic. We parked across the street within easy walking distance and the cost was a mere $5.00 In addition to that there was a police presence for pedestrian safety crossing the streets. The marquee was brightly lighted up and there was an air of excitement about the place. We were greeted by very kind and helpful ticket takers. There are a few concession areas inside the theater and are a bit pricey. The interior decor has been refurbished and is very nicely done. It is nice to see how things were done" back in the day". Very attractive and pleasant to be around. The ushers were well informed and extremely helpful. They keep the spirit of the old days of theater alive. The seating in the Mezzanine level was awesome. I do not believe that there is a bad seat in the house. The sound system and the acoustics were perfect. The seats are plush red velvet and comfortable. This is a great venue for musical acts, up close and personal. The only draw back is that the restrooms are located in the basement area. There is access at both ends of the theater and they were clean and orderly. After the show, there were a lot of people milling around the lobby but exiting was not an issue at all. The local law enforcement was still present for pedestrian traffic assistance and it was pleasing to see them in the parking garage. Leaving the parking area was a breeze as the attendant had plenty of change available and traffic moved along well. This was a great evening with a great show in a great theater. We will defiantly be back soon.

This venue's name suits it perfectly...it is majestic. The architecture is breathtaking inside this historical beauty. In response to negative reviews about acoustics, there is a reason for sound boards and artists should take the time to adjust. I have not had a problem with either show I have seen here. I agree with the feedback about balcony and loge/ "presidential box" seats being incredibly close together. For an average sized person, your knees will touch the chair in front of you. The chairs also lean back (too much so in my opinion) which makes it even more awkward and borderline uncomfortable. For loge seating you are literally even with the first few rows of the orchestra level, but I recommend the fourth row pair because it is raised a step above the first three for better viewing. The first three rows you have to lean out a bit in order to see which is fine for the person on the edge, but makes things harder to see for the person near the door. A few of us ended up standing by the door for the encor to see better and take a break after sitting in the awkward seating. There are decent parking options within walking distance that accept cash or credit card. Overall a wonderful venue to experience.

This venue is horrific for taller people. Back when it was built I am sure everyone fit comfortable, but statistically every year Americans are getting taller. My knees were bent like a contortionist. It was a shame because the show we went to was really awesome. I was able to enjoy it once my legs went numb fully and I couldn't feel the pain anymore.....I did enjoy the old style charm of the theatre, and a bar on every floor. Lack of urinals meant 500 dudes standing in line to use 4 urinals on my floor....

What are the best hotels near the theater? Walking is not my favorite thing, but we could always drive over and park closer.

Is there a balcony area that can accommodate a walker for a handicapped person? Elevator? And how wide at the seats, please? Large enough to handle a heavy person's wide behind? Hoping so!

Can you legally licensed concealed carry gun into Majestic Theater Dallas for concert. I dont see any 51% or 30.06 prohibited signage at front door. Thank you.
Written February 1, 2020
Marissa,
That is a stupid answer. You need a gun in there for the same reason you needed a gun in the last church shooting. Because there are crazy people out there that don’t value life and you need to be able to defend yourself and others.

Where is best & cheapest place to park for a show at The Majestic Theater?
Written May 24, 2019
There are at least two garages close, one across the street and another about a block away.
And there are a couple lots about a block away.
It’s all about the same.

We are going next week to see it's a wonderful life. Will they be serving food or popcorn or anything!
Written December 13, 2017
Enjoy yourself at this event. I have not seen any type of food service per say. They do have walk up snacks and beverages. Cocktails, soft drinks, popcorn, at times hot dogs. I would certainly recommend a nice dinner prior to the show and parking is right across the street. Enjoy.

Can I take a purse and a cellphone and a cámara inside. I'm going to a concert today Please let me know
Written April 14, 2017
I may be too late to answer your question. They will check your purse and you will asked to take your camera to the car. Cell phones are OK to take in but they are not to be used during the performance. No photography allowed. Not even without flash

How does one inquire about 'Handicapped Seating"? I have a friend with a balance disorder and who uses a cane, and I think she would need lower level seating, and perhaps: even near the aisle....To whom would I speak about this, and as her driver and person accompanying her, could I purchase a ticket next to her, if at all possible? Many thanks to you, from Suzanne

Hi Suzanne,
I myself have a handicap. I would talk to the box office during a slow time of day. Depending upon what your going there for, you should let them know exactly what the situation is. They are incredible in helping people out. The sooner you call, the best way they can help you. Also, the bottom section does slant down so keep that in mind. Good luck and if you need any further help, please ask again and I will call them. I've lived in Dallas since I was 6 months old so I have so many contacts. I hope this helps. Good Luck, Liz PS: careful about parking, especially in this area at night!
