Went for the Mecum Auto Auction for all days. The venue is clean, bathrooms plentiful and clean. Even though it was hot outside, it was freezing inside this venue - people buying jackets and flannel shirts from the vendors. It is cold 🥶 so be prepared. Otherwise a great venue. Oh, food is overpriced as expected, but was good

Beautiful down town Dallas, alot of very friendly people, more places to eat than you can think of, all the hotels are very close to the Convention center. We thought a cab was a must, but you can very easily walk, the city blocks are small and lots of one way streets. We had a Blast at the Mecum auctions and look forward to next year.

This is our first time at this convention center. We are here for the NRA annual meeting of members. Plenty of room for companies to display their products and many other smaller rooms for use as classrooms or other uses.
Plenty of parking in the nearby garages, the center is well maintained and very roomy.
My only slight negative is the food on-site. The stuff prepared there was mediocre at best. We did find a chick filet cart that had brought in sandwiches. They seemed to be mass produced and kept warm. Best choice we had!

I spent quite a few hours at the Dallas Convention Center last weekend for a 3 day NCA cheer competition. First of all, let me say that this place was crowded. There were thousands of cheerleaders and even more spectators. With the pure volume of people, you would think the management of the Dallas Convention Center would have brought in enough staff to handle the crowds.
The restrooms were constantly out of toilet paper and paper towels-not to mention that they were filthy. Paper and trash littered the bathroom floors, stall were just plain nasty.
Restrooms were awful, but the general public areas, including the concourse was even worse. Trash cans overflowed. Floors were covered with trash. I'm talking about discarded food/drink containers, paper, gum and other assorted trash. This trash stayed on the floors ALL DAY. I NEVER SAW ANYONE SWEEPING, PICKING UP TRASH OR EMPTYING TRASH BINS during the day. They were sticky and dirty, so dirty your feet would stick to them as you walked thru the venue.
Honestly, I would never recommend this convention center-I'm certain the NCA organization paid a ton of money to book this facility....and the convention center really couldn't keep up the the volume of people, or maybe they just believe in cleanliness.

We were at the Convention Center for a long weekend and truly enjoyed ourselves. The layout was very convenient, utilizing rooms across three floors, and the convenience with staying at the Omni Hotel is unrivaled.
The staff were kind and helpful, many of which became my friends over the weekend.
High five, Convention Staff!

Everything is bigger in Texas, and this place is HUGE! The exhibit hall has room for 15 acres of exhibits, and then there are all the ballrooms and conference rooms for other activities, plus a big arena, where we saw the President of the Untied States and the Vice President speak, and which later became the concert venue for the CHarlie Daniels Band and Travis Tritt. We were there for the 2018 NRA Annual Meeting, attended by 87,000+ members, and were not disappointed. Better wear comfortable shoes; you will need them.

This is a nice venue for this type of event. I’ve attended the Dallas Safari Club Convention here over the years, and it’s always been a good experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the facility clean. It is fairly easy to get in and out with ample parking in the area. If there were any protesters, they were far enough away to not get in the way; we didn’t see them anyway. Good show all around.

It's a convention center, so that doesn't need much explanation. Parking around the convention center is expensive and a hassle...again, not much explanation needed there either. What I didn't realize is how close the train comes to the convention center and that includes both DART and TRE!
Next time, we're taking the TRE from Fort Worth, saving $15 a day on parking and not hassling with traffic.

We spent the weekend at the convention center for a large volleyball tournament. I was disappointed in the restroom facilities. They did not smell clean and often had no toilet paper. I would think the center would have adequately staffed for a group as large as the Lone Star Qualifier tournament. Also, when your entire facility is filled with athletes, it would make good sense to provide healthy food choices. Again, they could have planned better to meet the specific needs of those they are hosting. One last thing, parking was NOT convenient and we had to deal with bad weather one day, as well. I would have assumed they would provide some sort of shuttle service from their offsite parking lots. Overall, I thought the city of Dallas would have provided better all around service at their convention center.

Hi
I am considering coming for Christmas.
I would be brining my mother who is in her early 70`s and my two daughters age 16 & 19.
I would like to know is the entertainment in the hotel for their age groups.
Also is there any shopping markets or centers, site seeing trips and town near by?
Kind Regards
Ms La Foucade
