My daughter is junior at SMU. She is a happy student having a great college career. The administration and financial aid folks are real champs. It is expensive but I believe it will be worth the investment. Beautiful campus.

A microcosm in an exclusive area of suburban Dallas, SMU's programs stand with any ivy league school. Instruction and scholarship at perfection. None else like it in Texas

This is the reason I went to visit SMU, but there wasn't a way to review the GWB Presidential Library yet. I knew I'd have some free time and reserved a time to visit the library and I ended up being one of the first 100 people through the doors when it opened on May 1st. I've heard so much about it because of the sustainable building and high-tech nature of the exhibits, and they were right. Some of the interactive things inside were very cool; almost futuristic.
Although, I thought the exhibits were a bit on the sparse side, it seemed to be mostly about the President between 2000 and 2008 when he was President. I know, it's a Presidential Library, but I was hoping for more on his pre and post-Presidential era. I really learned a lot from the LBJ Library in Austin, I was just hoping for more here. They have a couple of bugs to work out as far as people-moving but they'll get those ironed out. If you pay for, and print out, a ticket on line you should be able to sneak past the folks purchasing tickets there, but I'm guessing it was just opening day mix-ups. They'll get it down to a science. It was $16 for myself and $7 to park, so it's not cheap by any means. And, I'm guessing these projects are paid for by donations long before the design even starts, so there'll be a lot of money coming into SMU, or wherever it's going to go. The gift shop folks will need to figure out how to pack things a bit better. I bought a cup for my brother and they just put it in a bag to clunk around and possibly break. Breakable things like that should maybe be wrapped in bubble wrap or at least newspaper or something, it would be a nice touch to know that they care about what they sell enough to make sure that folks can at least get them home without them breaking.
Add it to your must-see list of Presidential libraries, it's worth seeing.

SMU is a beautiful campus located in a beautiful city. I visited recently to visit the Presidential Library of President George W. Bush. It was a great museum! I highly recommend a visit for anyone in town.

Beautiful, classic campus. Old guard with modern touches. Stroll among the many walks & roadways throughout the campus & soak in the opportunities available to so many students throughout the years here.

We rode around the campus while visiting Dallas and enjoyed all the beautiful buildings on the USM campus. The George W. Bush Presidential Library is on campus so you can see both. Worth a visit.

This campus is a site for any eye view. Attend a graduation if you have a chance simply look for a reason to stop by.

What does it cost for a family of 4 to visit SMU? What are the parking fees for weekdays?
Written July 14, 2015
I don't pay anything to visit SMU. But I didn't use a guide for this. I just walked alone there. I parked my car in the George W. Bush Museum parking lot and paid 5 dollars.
