The gardens are lovely throughout, but on a Texas hot day the fountains are what you really want to see (and splash!). Take a parasol because there's plenty of sun.

The arboretum is so beautiful and the water features are so elaborate it is really just stunning. But it is really hard to enjoy it when it is hot. Go in the spring or in the fall.

We've been twice now and still haven't seen everything. It is so fun just walking and exploring all of the paths. Stroller friendly, multiple bathrooms, water features you can play in! The Groupon deal is awesome!

What a gem these gardens are! I thoroughly enjoyed several hours wandering the grounds. The planning and vision it took to create this masterpiece is incredible. If you have time to visit, make it a priority. You will not be disappointed!

Not at the Arboretum, but at Fair Park, about four miles southeast. There are several fireworks displays visible from White Rock Lake Park, but they are several miles away.
