This free sailing opportunity on White Rock Lake is the best deal in Dallas! Captain and crew were very friendly and welcoming and it was a great family outing.

One of the best ways to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing ride around the White Rock Lake, A gem of a park located in the center of Dallas. Took a quite relaxing sail on the 38 foot catamaran around the lake, seeing the beauty of the park from a new perspective. Viewing picnickers, beautiful homes and the wild life that inhabits the park. Especially watching the sunset over Dallas skyline. Unique way for the about 25 friends and children to celebrate with a birthday party. The children sat at the front of the boat on soft cushions and had the time of their life. It was unique experience and fun for all. Skippered by some of the most knowledgeable skippers on the lake with many years of on the lake experience. Knowledgeable crew was eager to explain the wonderful sites and the boat's features. The large boat was extremely well equipped for the occasion with many benches that made pick-nick tables and with blankets to take the chill off.

We enjoyed a beautiful sunset with friends and family on White Rock lake under sail. Greta and Michael are professional and clearly love the lake and are happy to share it with others. We took our friend for her first sailboat ride ever, my daughter fell asleep on the bean bag chair after enjoying warm cider and we left with the most stunning sunset photos ever in addition to a new holiday memory. Thank you Spirit of Dallas!!

The company did a great job making sure everyone had all the information and details needed to find the location; the crew was very professional and friendly. It was a lovely experience if you're looking for something extremely mellow. I would say it's more of a picnic spot on the water than anything else. It is a very very *slow* ride and felt more like being on a slowly moving platform than being out on the water.

It might have been nice to have some light background music, as it was very very quiet.

Thank you so very much for sailing with us! The Spirit Of Dallas catamaran sailboat cruises on White Rock Lake where the usable sailing area is only 1.8 miles long. If we go any faster than 3.5 knots (about 4 mph) the sail will be over well before the amount of time you purchased tickets. Unfortunately music is restricted by the City of Dallas rules specific to the parks. You may want to checkout our larger boats on Lake Ray Hubbard, 18 miles East of White Rock, where we have almost 20 miles of lake, the boats have music, and cruise a little faster. Thanks! Capt. Michael, DFWBoatRide.com on Lake Ray Hubbard and TheSpiritOfDallas.com on White Rock Lake.

They cancelled 2 min before sailing knowing that there was a problem since that morning. 18 people were already waiting at the dock, some traveled as far as Denton for this. Thanks for NOT letting us know and wasting our time. Very unprofessional and rude.. Do not trust them!!!!

I had purchased the cruise from a silent auction: the trouble began with booking the cruise...they wouldn’t not contact by telephone ...I had to reach out to foundation I received cruise from just to get them to contact me on simple booking. Booked a month in advance..I had guest from Las Vegas & Massachusetts come in for the cruise. I confirmed cruise detailed a week before, the day before and day of....this company apparently doesn’t know how to call their customers back?? So we showed up on 11/10/19 at 4:45p...tried calling to see why boat was just sitting and not picking us up..to only receive a message they canceled our cruise!! (Please take in mind this was an event for my aunt with stage 4 Cancer!!!!)
We built our day and trip around this cruise and had over 20 people waiting on the doc!!
They NEVER CALLED OR APOLOGIZED...they left us there without the cruise I paid 105.00 for!! THIS IS NOT A COMPANY TO TRUST ...if the conduct themselves like this off shore I can’t imagine what sailing would be like??? Horrible customer service & relations!! If you care about your time, safety & loved ones DONT BOOK OR SAIL WITH THIS COMPANY...they are not reliable nor do they represent the name on the boat!! This is far from the spirit of Dallas...HORRIBLE!! Save your money and time ...I would never even rebook with company or teustsailing with them! SHAMEFUL ..even the photo on their website is a far fetched from the truth!!!
Bad businesses such as this don’t deserve your money or your time!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.... thespiritofdallas.org AVOID THIS COMPANY

We thoroughly enjoyed our sail on White Rock Lake. The crew was knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about sailing. The fact that it's free was icing on the cake. We will definitely return.

I was highly suspect when someone approached me on White Rock Lake and told me and my 20 friends that I could hop on a sailboat for 45 minutes at no cost to us. But there really is no catch/ no hidden fees/ no sales pitch. It was just a fun and unique opportunity to enjoy a very "zen-like" experience. I am so grateful that this wealthy foundation is giving back to the community like this. It's probably one of the few nice things to do in Dallas that's actually free.

My husband and I went on the evening sail on The Spirit of Dallas last Saturday and had such an enjoyable time. The family is so kind and welcoming and they know their stuff (especially Molly!). We had a great 45-minute ride out on White Rock Lake. It felt so special to see the lake from such a different view and the sunset view made it all the more special! We will definitely be back!
