No traveler to south central Texas should miss the opportunity to visit this newly opened museum - an amazing collection of historical items and an educational tour of the age of the cattle drives thru Texas. Lots of interactive displays that will impress young and old alike. The museum is located on the crossroads of many major highways thru Cuero. It is open Tuesday thru Saturday and admission is very reasonable for the caliber of these first class exhibits.

This was a nice museum to visit. It has professional displays and is very well done. The admission price was only $8. There is a parking lot on the side of the building and also a wonderful gift shop. The employee was such a nice lady. We wanted to see some of the knives for sale in the display case and she was of great help. The museum overall is a bit small but well worth seeing, it is a newer museum and not a stereotypical stuffy old place. We enjoyed it very much.

the ground floor is the normal city museum. While it is interesting, the top floor is more interesting because you don't expect a museum to have "juicers' . This place has over 2,000 ( I think ) . All different kinds in different rooms up stairs. well worth the look.

Cuero did it right with this museum that documents many of Cuero’s founding families early struggles. Top notch exhibits and great people affiliated with this project.

This is a first class museum offering a view into the life of the early cowboy. Items are on loan to the museum including many early Vaquero silver spurs, saddles and more. We absolutely enjoyed the museum with it's interactive displays. Their gift shop is also and wonderful place to purchase Texas gift items.

A delightfully well-done interactive experience that educates the mind and leaves an impression on your eyes and ears. Well worth 60-90 minutes of your time.

We've been to many museums across the country, including the Smithsonian museums and the MOMA and many others. While small, the Chisholm Trail Museum is as well-curated as those. What makes this an especially good place to visit is there is much more to see behind the museum: the 1882 Proctor-Green House (which can be rented for events or to spend the night) and the 1880's School House, which was Cuero's original English-German school (not a re-creation but the actual building), The museum itself has lots of interesting history, with a wide variety of spurs, saddles and much more. When we visited on a Saturday, we were fortunate to be greeted by a young high school student named Tanner, working that day. He provide some interesting background on the museum and some of the exhibits.

This is not a big museum, but the exhibits are first class. Lots of video exhibits including some that were interactive. The introductory movie was even good. We learned a lot.

I learned about this museum in a travel mag. What a great story with beautifully curated artifacts and fun interactive activities for kids AND adults. The movie was produced by the producers of the Lonesome Dove mini-series and is very good. The gift shop offered a great range of takeaways all related to the Chisholm Trail or TX.$5 entry very affordable and worth every dollar. You can make a flattened souvenir penny too.
