Great little museum!!

We stopped in here and we delighted with what we found!! For $10 you got a nice history lesson about the ChrisomTrail and a fun art exhibition. There are interactive exhibits, a movie, great examples of Spurs and cowboy paraphernalia!! The docent gave us a great introduction to the museum and offered to answer any of our questions. The location is handicapped accessible, has cute gift shop, free parking and super clean restrooms. It was well worth the time we spent here!!

I learned about this museum in a travel mag. What a great story with beautifully curated artifacts and fun interactive activities for kids AND adults. The movie was produced by the producers of the Lonesome Dove mini-series and is very good. The gift shop offered a great range of takeaways all related to the Chisholm Trail or TX.$5 entry very affordable and worth every dollar. You can make a flattened souvenir penny too.

Great historical museum

This is a really cool place. Lots of great historical items relating to the Chisholm Trail. Lots of quality artifacts. A couple of fun interactive displays. One of them you get to be the trail boss and drive your herd to Kansas. The other one you get to cook the dinner meal for the trail riders. A very cool Chuck Wagon is on display. The 15 minute video at the end gives you a good prospective of live on the cattle drive.
Plan to spend an hour or so in the museum.

Cuero did it right with this museum that documents many of Cuero’s founding families early struggles. Top notch exhibits and great people affiliated with this project.

World-class museum of the old west
Jun 2017 • Family
This museum is located within a few miles of the actual starting place of the historic Chisholm Trail which cattle drovers from Texas and Mexico used to deliver their cattle to the railheads and packinghouses in the Midwest in the 1800s. The museum is filled with actual historical artifacts of the period as well as many self-guide exhibits, many of which are interactive. It contains a n actual trail ride chuck wagon from the 1870s. Our grandchildren were as impressed as we were.

Best of the Trail

The Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum is a unique and exceptionally well done museum of Texas Longhorn herding heritage. The museum hosts the Tinker silver studded saddle collected and has a great video of the story of this part of Texas. The three upstairs rooms are venues for hosting meet and greets and sit down meetings and dinners.

Real Cowboy life ...
Jan 2018 • Couples
This is a Great place to learn about Cowboys and the Chisholm Trail. Very educational and the short film was done so well. It showed how tough it was being a Real Cowboy! We went in the winter and happened to be the only people there so the Museum gift shop lady showed us around and how the displays works. She was friendly and professional. The gift shop had a nice variety of gifts and books. We loved this museum. No photos can be taken or I would share them.
