My family goes to the Frio every year. This year was amazing! Happy Hollow was the best float we have done in several years. It’s always fun, bumping into fellow floaters and just mixing with them.

Happy Hollow's staff are always super friendly and helpful to make this wonderful river and float even better! Our family loves going to this place and will continue to go in the future. We always like doing 2 float trips with lunch in between. Great shady place with picnic tables and gorgeous views of the river. Have fun!!!

Happy Hollow is located right on the Frio River north of the state park. They have shuttle buses that drop you off at the Tx-1120 river crossing and you float down to their location about 2 hours down the river.
Their rental equipment was in good shape and priced competitively to the others.
The advantage that Happy Hollow has is that you tube a slightly different section of the river (North of the State Park) and you get out of the water right at their location which is on the River bank - no need for a ride back to the outfitter.

Extremely rude to customers wearing masks and are not mask complaint at all. Sign in thier window basically says if you think covid is an actual threat go home. Covid is not a joke y'all, would give 0 stars if I could.

The scenery is beautiful. The shuttle at Happy Hollow was quick, no long lines and no wait which was great. The only flaw was that they failed to tell us that the river was extremely low! We were a family of 14 with small children and had to hike the river the majority of the time. It was the most painful walk ever. We all had water shoes on, but for something like this you need to wear tennis shoes, something with a good sole. We all got home full of bumps and bruises. Kids were not happy, we wasted a day here, wish we would have just taken them to a nice waterhole to spend the day swimming. I’m sure it’s beautiful and a great place to visit when the river is actually flowing.

Would NOT come here, the spot isn't worth the treatment your given here.. The owners are rude and inconsiderate. We tried to cross and wait for family and they refused unless we paid for everyone, since we were getting out on there property. Which to a degree I get but when you have no service and your supposed to be picked up somewhere rather than turning people away they could of had the deceny to just let us wait across the road, and could of been paid when our ride got there with our stuff..

Stopped here on a referral from a friend. They have a store with anything you need for a float trip, groceries, souvenir shirts, etc. Tube rental, shuttle, and parking were all cheap. A little crazy if they are busy, but all similar places are in the summer time! They shuttle you to a drop off location to start your float and you float back to their location. So, no waiting for a shuttle when you are done. They also have vacation rentals that we may try in the future.

Hey ya'll better get down to this place! Easy check-in! Place was SUPER clean! Right on the frio river!
Fire pit, 2-bbq pits near the bungalows. 4 comfortable beds! Large kitchen and living area! Great place to stay, drink, float, and freeze!
1-mile from Garner State Park.
5 steps into the river are really steep, if you have trouble with that FYI! Wear water shoes, rocks are slippery! Firewood for sale in the store. I suggest taking your food to cook, guys next to us said food was not yummy at restaurants near the area.
Bring your own water to drink/cook with!!!!
$10/24-hr tube rentals

We decided to drive up to Happy Hollow when Neal's didn't have enough water to float. We were not disappointed. The staff at the counter told us there was a 25% chance of us walking and there was, however, it wasn't a bad walk. It was quite nice. We found a place to stop and have a picnic for about an hour and the guys jumped from high cliffs. The float was good for our souls and everyone we encountered was pleasant. The prices were great and worth it. We will definitely keep Happy Hollow in mind for our next river trip adventure!

We have always floated Happy Hallow and it has always been great. This year I was disappointed by the service. Seems that the ambiance of what used to be great about this float is not what it used to be. You must pay to park, float and exit. It's possible that this has always been the case and I some who was not charged that way, but I was very surprised by all the charges this year.
