This building was built in 1886 by R. E. Stafford a millionaire cattleman, stately interior (which seated 1000) had gas burning chandeliers and an elaborate hand-painted curtain. It was nice to hear the history of this building.

This is such a beautiful historic building that adds to the ambience of the rest of the town square area. It is decorated and preserved well representing this gem of an area.

While Columbus is a fairly small town, the Stafford Opera House is an awesome addition to the town. I can only imagine how proud the residents of Columbus were back in the day when this beauty was first built.
