This is a great museum for kids. HUGE collection of shells and a large collection of pinned butterflies. They also have rocks, geodes, dinosaur bones and other things to look at. The museum is free and they do give you an opportunity to make a donation. I will be back to visit again. The staff person was willing to answer... More

I live close to the museum and we go there on the weekends to let our 3 year old boy and 9 year old girls explore the exhibits. The planetarium is also a great way to spend a Thursday or Friday night.

Small place with an awesome collection. Lots & lots of beautiful shells from around the world; rocks & geodes; butterflies & moths; fossils; even a small collection of ivory & jade carvings from the Orient. Definitely worth a visit!!

The staff was amazing. They were so helpful and kind. The items in the museum ate also top notch! My son had a lot of fun with the children's teaching section

We came on a Saturday morning and it was completely empty. There are tons of seashells, dinosaurs, rocks, and animal exhibits. I was surprised to find some Chinese exhibits of ivory and jade. In the corner is the kids interactive activities and my boy spent a good half hour exploring them. He also got a free seashell souvenir. You can... More

This is a fantastic museum. They have the largest seashell collection in the southern U.S. Other permanent exhibits feature fossils, including dinosaurs and mammoth bones. Other exhibits feature Texas coastal wildlife and a unique jade and ivory collection.

My wife and I visited this on Saturday February 20th. We didn't originally plan this visit but heard about it from both the Sea Center of Texas and Lake Jackson Historical Museum volunteers. So, since we were told it is free admission (as were Sea Center and the Historical Museum), we thought we would give it a shot. We had... More

This is a small museum at our local junior college. It is free admission but welcomes donations. It has a huge shell collection as well as a great gem/mineral collection. Great dinosaur exhibit as well as some Texas wildlife exhibits. Very kid friendly. There is also a small art gallery and planetarium in the complex.
