Wonderful course on all aspects of print making led by Colleen Corradi. I had a great week learning so much in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Colleen is a brilliant teacher and very patient, essential for me as a complete beginner. I produced more work than I could imagine and have skills I can use in the future.
Colleen’s studio is very beautiful, fully equipped and well organised. The position of the studio and lovely rooms is stunning and I have included a photo.

Italian sun, blue skies, green mountains and a fabulous art teacher. Dedalo Center for Contemporary Art is situated in the foothills of Castiglione e Casauria, near Pescara on the south-easterly coast of Italy. Colleen is a Master Printmaker and dedicated artist, who encouraged me to find ways to use my own craft (calligraphy), while learning many new techniques.

Each morning was a joy, and included a one-hour mountain walk in my own time, picking fresh cherries along the way, followed by breakfast outside. Class began at 9am, we learnt etching, drypoint, monotypes, watercolour prints, softground printing and more. By the end of the week we had many pieces of delicate art to take home, along with an array of memories that will last a lifetime, such as visiting the nearby San Clemente Abbey from c.871. But the highlight really is the teaching by Colleen herself, she is committed to helping you get the most out of your week, her art studio is spotless, and all equipment is top quality (full-size weighted printing press, Fabriano paper, endless tubs of etching ink, custom made art bench at just the right height, to name a few).

The quintessential Italian destination, Dedalo enjoys a timeless location set amongst olive fields and is only a 2 hour drive from Rome and 20 minutes from Pescara. It really is the ideal place for professional or budding artists -- you will be inspired, it's a must-visit.

I feel so lucky to have found DEDALO ARTE in a little town tucked away in Abruzzo. I pursued a Printmaking course there without much information on the internet. I took a week-long printmaking intensive class at DEDALO and had an incredible experience!! The hilly town of Castiglione was perfect for stunning beauty, inspiration, quiet and focus on my work. The accommodation was more than I could have asked for with each bedroom in a quaint, cozy house individually full of beautiful artwork to look at and full amenities. Colleen is a brilliant teacher who pays close attention to detail and cares about her students' progress. With so much knowledge to share, she is patient, aware and always with a sense of humor. Her studio is clean with top quality equipment and supplies. She challenged me in all the important ways and pushed me to make the most of my time in the studio everyday. She is organized and professional yet she knows how to relax and enjoy the time together. I felt that my time at DEDALO was invaluable for my future as an artist. I learned so much about myself as an artist, an educator and I developed deep appreciation for this new medium of printmaking. Colleen is more than a teacher for me, she is a friend and I am so grateful to have had that experience with her at DEDALO and I look forward to doing a longer residency with her in the future. Anyone with interest to see an unchartered part of medieval Italia and be inspired by Colleen and the surrounding area should not think twice about this trip!!!

I traveled very far to spend some time in a beautiful location, doing something I love: printmaking. This holiday was a wonderful experience for me and my family. Colleen is really a dedicated artist and great teacher, and her lessons on the different printmaking techniques are invaluable for me. I was able to practice etching, linocut, monoprinting and many others, since Colleen has a very well equipped studio and a very nice press. If you are looking for a knowledgeable teacher and an intense course, in a relaxed setting with wonderful homemade food and good accommodation, this is for you. I must add, I traveled with my husband and two sons, and they were able to enjoy the surrounding towns and parks. Also, the friendly atmosphere in the studio that developed with the other fellow artists was also very nice and we got to spend some time visiting Medieval towns, eating out and even doing a bit of shopping. I would very much recommend Dedalo Center for a great holiday.

When arriving at Dedalo Art Centre, I have thought that I was in the middle of nowhere. But then I have realized that I had just found a secret place. The countryside is amazingly beautiful, just on the board of a wonderful National Park. I have decided to sleep there as it was more convenient than traveling daily, and it was a wise decision. The atmosphere with the other classmate was wonderful. For the whole stay we bonded and felt very much like part of a family. The classes held by Colleen are amazing. We did load of work and Colleen truly cares about everyone achieving their best results. I loved her method of teaching, it is not often what you get from art classes. She advises you and make you think and see your work differently of what you would normally do. We also had the chance to explore the surrounding. I have grown up in the near County, and I did´t know how beautiful this part of Italy is. Colleen is a great organizer that really makes sure everyone of her guests are treated well, made comfortable and feel like at home. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it. It does´t matter if you are Italian or come from another Country. You will not only do a fantastic workshop, but you will be part of a family and discover a secret place that will remain in your hearth forever.

I found this gem of a course!! I spent an amazing 10 days with a fantastic group of ladies and a wonderful artist! I teach visual arts in a primary school and wanted to upskill myself by doing an art course whilst on holidays and I found Dedalo! Colleen is an amazing host and artist...she is an excellent teacher and her knowledge is vast and she has a great sense of humour which she needed when dealing with our group! The days were intense but so rewarding as discussions flowed and friendships developed whilst learning and practising the many techniques presented. This centre offers many different courses and I am looking forward to my next trip so I can try another course. The bonus for Australian teachers is that we can claim the trip and course on tax and the hours count towards our professional development. Be brave and enrol...you will be so glad you did!

A week of printmaking in Abruzzo—amazing, energizing, exciting, exhausting, invigorating, inspiring—and that's without using a thesaurus!
My week at the Dedalo Center for Contemporary Art in the village of Castiglione a Casauria with Colleen Corradi Brannigan, a master printmaker, teacher and artist, was more than I ever dreamed of.
We worked hard under Colleen's instruction and guidance, learning many types of printmaking in her fully furnished studio. Inspiration was everywhere, there was always something new to surprise me, from art to relics to nature.
The fresh, local food was delicious, the accommodation modern and comfortable. I loved the afternoon of excursions into the mountains to see a medieval castle, church, chapel and village that few visitors to Italy ever get to see.
All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course and experience to anyone with even a slight interest in learning about printmaking.

I just returned fron a wonderful 7-Day experience at the Arts Center in Abruzzo. Colleen is a very knowledgeable and fabulous teacher. The room accommodations was not only beautiful but also inspiring. The meals were simply outstanding with most coming from local farmers or right from her garden. If you would like an wonderful artist excursion whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist you will thoroughly enjoy the Art Center.

I have just returned from a fabulous week of printmaking with Colleen in the beautiful area of Abruzzo. It was a tightly packed schedule of etching (hard and soft ground, aquatint, sugarlift), monotype, monoprint, linocut and collagraph and catered for all levels of experience. Colleen is a talented, knowledgeable and patient teacher who provided lots of support and encouragement.
Aside from the printmaking we were well fed and watered, had comfortable, air-conditioned rooms and were taken on a sightseeing trip (the medieval church at Bominaco, Rocca Calasco, Santo Stefano di Sessanio).
The group was great, they were all really friendly and we had such fun together.
I would definitely recommend a course at Dedalo, and hope to return someday.

I have just completed a week's intensive printmaking course with Colleen at Centro Dedalo and I would highly recommend it.
We were a small group allowing for plenty of individual attention. Colleen is a great teacher and very patient with novice printmakers! During the week we used a variety of techniques: Monotype, monoprint, collagraph, Lino, etching, aquatint, sugar lift and spit-bite. I've come home justifiably tired but also fizzing with ideas and enthusiasm!
The course fee also included accommodation and delicious home made Italian food in abundance! A lot of the food was "kilometro zero" straight from the garden to the table. The hospitality was great and all in the setting of the spectacular Abruzzo countryside.
Altogether a wonderful experience and great value for money!😀😀
