The church here has a lot of history tied to it, and I would really be sure to visit this as well as Cagsawa Ruins to get a whole picture of the Mayon event. It is covered in ornate carvings, and contains a history of its restoration and a map that labels all the statues/carvings. It is a popular destination... More

We took a jeepney ride from Ayala Mall Legazpi. Take the jeepney that has the sign Daraga and it will take you there. Cost for 2 people is 18 pesos. The trip took 20 minutes. It is an old church built in the 1700s. It is located on a hill and has a beautiful view of Mayon Volcano. You can... More

An old Catholic church with Mayon Volcano Backdrop. Even if you are not catholic I would highly recommend going here. It's one of the best places (Top 2) to take photo of the Majestic Volcano other than Lignon Hill (Top 3) and Cagasa ruins (Top 1). The ranking is just my own preference.

Similar to many Spanish-inspired churches, it is beautiful but nothing is new. Still worth checking out for a quick stop.

When in Legazpi don't forget to visit Daraga Church, say a little prayer, and marvel at its history and architecture. Also Mayon Volcano can be seen from this site as the church is located on a hill. So one can enjoy the view and visit the Holy Sacrament at the same time.

This church is situated on the hill of the town of Daraga. Aside from the amazing architecture of this old Spanish church, the church grounds provides a magnificent view of Mayon Volcano.

You can also look at the majestic Mayon from this church, but the church is also worth the visit. You can tell of it's rich history just by looking at the exterior. Go inside and you'll immediately find statues of saints and mother Mary and Jesus. Prayers for the particular saint is posted beneath the statues to guide us.

If you're fascinated with architecture and history, you must visit this church. It was built in 1773 by Franciscan monks. If you can't get enough of the Mayon Volcano, the view from the churchyard is also pretty awesome.

The eastern and western facades, belltower, and baptistry of this church are declared national historical treasures by the National Museum. Perched on top of a hill, the church offers an unobstructed view of the Mayon Volcano.
