Torr La Nochs is just a few miles from downtown Burnet, but a world away. This lovely facility and patio exude Texas charm, from the limestone structures, the roaming longhorns and donkeys, and the Hill Country view encompassing a finger of Inks Lake. It's lovely - in fact, it's pictured on the cover of the most recent Hill Country Wine Trail Guide. This is a wonderful place to relax and taste or sip a glass of wine. The weather was moderate but windy on our visit but that didn't deter wine lovers. Our server mentioned that the patio had even been packed on some of those record-setting 105 degrees from several weeks prior. Torr La Nochs offers tastings, bottles, and charcuterie/cheese plates paired with a wine (included in the cost). We started with tastings, $15 for 6 1oz pours of 2 whites, 1 rose, and 3 reds. They came in labeled plastic containers and our server suggested the tasting order - whites, rose, followed by red, all from sweeter to drier. Each was described thoroughly on the menu. We enjoyed them all. We ordered a bottle of one of our favorites and enjoyed a glass or two, along with view and the longhorns herding by, before "corking" the rest of the bottle and heading back into town for dinner. The winery is part of the "Wine Triangle" of the Burnet area, for those looking for a wine tour in a 15-minute range of the Burnet area. It includes Wedding Oak in downtown Burnet and nearby Perissos as well, There are also some other notable wineries slightly further away near Lampasas and Tor in the Highland Lakes area. A great option for a weekend getaway!

My husband and I moved to TX (my home state) from CA last July. After a number of years in CA, one of the things I thought I'd miss most was the CA wineries / wines. By September, we'd found this winery and joined the wine club. The views are AMAZING, the owners/staff are friendly with a great story about the history of the winery and the wines are very good. Okay, yes, we do miss SOME of the CA wines / wineries but... we weren't able to get to the wineries there often as it was too much work to get to them from LA on a regular basis. We're close enough to TNL to make an afternoon trip there (even for only a couple of hours) whenever we desire to do so. A favorite wine there is the Montepulciano but... we also love the Fion Dearg as a great every day wine. We're THRILLED to have made this find!

We saw the sign on our way to Fredericksburg. Decided to stop. Drove up a long driveway not knowing what to expect. This winery was hopping. Patio and bar area was packed. The dog was running around. They were very friendly poured us a tasting and we got a platter with fruit and cheese and crackers. The view was wonderful too. Just a great winery with some great wine. Wish we lived closer.

Perched on a hilltop overlooking the Texas Hill Country, this winery offers wine by the glass, by the bottle, and wine tastings. We got 7 pours (a small sample) for $15/person. Had fun trying different wines. The place was hopping on a Saturday but staff was friendly, knowledgeable. Visit when the weather is nice for amazing views, Don't rush, take the time to enjoy the wine and the day. Worth the visit.
