An excellent company full of professionals.
Our pilot, Chase, has plenty of experience in a helicopter which shows with how effortlessly he can put you on a single hog trying for the treeline; while our night guide, Jimmy, was more than proficient in his skill with firearms as well as his ability to walk you on to multiple groups of hogs.
A note for both the helicopter and the ground excursions would be that both have a limit of 2 persons at a time, and would require switching out if you go with more than that.

These guys are the best! We just finished a helicopter hog hunt with Helibacon and it was an absolute blast from start to finish! If you have been thinking about hunting hogs from a helicopter, you need to stop what you are doing and book a spot immediately!
Booking the trip with Chris was a breeze. He was incredibly responsive and answered all my questions, even if some of them were probably silly! I was really impressed with how he was able to set expectations and help me book at a great time as well as following up with me before and after the hunt.
Getting to the airspace was an easy drive and their hangar was right next to the parking lot. All their staff were extremely professional and polite. The exact kind of people you would want for this type of experience.
One of the things that really stood out to me was their focus on safety. They did a walkthrough all the equipment and made sure to stress the importance of situational awareness while in the aircraft and during the hunt. I never felt unsafe and I appreciate their willingness to stop the hunt or trip if it was every unsafe.
One of the things that really stood out for me was their equipment! Their new Bell 212 was absolutely gorgeous and very well cleaned and maintained. The hangar was clutter free and you can tell they take pride in what they do and making sure they have quality gear!
The fitted us with harnesses, audio headsets, and had the best selection of firearm's I've seen. We were up in the air within an hour of arriving and it was everything I hoped and dreamed it would be! Our pilot, Chase, was an amazing pilot! You can tell he takes pride in his job and exuded confidence in his abilities. I've had several helicopters trips, but Helibacon's ride was as smooth as butter. I would recommend to dress warmer than you think, especially cozy socks, pants, and long sleeve shirts since you will be exposed to the wind during your flight.
After a brief flight to the hunting grounds, we immediately started to search for hogs and get them out of their hiding spots. Since they are wild animals, it sometimes takes patience in finding them but within 40 min we found a large group of around 30 and then let loose! They made sure each side of the aircraft were able to have time to hunt and it was a blast! I could tell that they did everything they could to help us find the hogs to make sure we had a positive experience!
To be completely honest, the helicopter ride was fun enough by itself but you pair it with the hog hunt and it is hands down one of the coolest things I've ever done. All my friends are jealous and I can't wait to book a trip next year! What a memorable experience! I would book a trip today, you won't regret it!

I own a high end travel company and have booked my top client twice now with HeliBacon. This client hunts extensively in Texas. Chris Britt and his team are a pleasure to work with. He is responsive and very clear in the services my client will receive, pricing, invoicing, etc. My client said it was one of the best experiences on the ground as well as far as quality of guides and delivery of what was promised. I look forward to recommending and hopefully booking many more outings with HeliBacon.

The provided equipment is top notch and the guide gave us a great introduction. However, the best equipment is not worth it, when you don't get to use it. We saw one single hog during the entire hunt and then spent the rest of the time staring through our night vision in order to find another one that never appeared. We understand that this is nature and it's unpredictable, but based on the advertisement, videos and pics we expected herds of hogs so we thought it's worth the price. After contacting the company explaining the situation, they waved us off saying that they can't control the hogs. As a condolence, they wanted to put us off with merchandise - not sure what to do with shirts and mugs of a company we would not recommend. Definitely won't be back.

Hello Mirjam - We are honored that you chose HeliBacon for your first hunting trip. We are glad you liked the top notch equipment and guide. Fortunately it was not a totally dry hunt, and you saw and successfully engaged a large boar. According to your review, you understand that this is nature and the wild animals can be unpredictable. No outfitter can guarantee the success of an excursion when hunting wild animals. Unless I suppose the animals were penned up somewhere, but that's not really hunting is it? Sometimes we see large groups and sometimes we don't. We are not able to control the weather or the wild hogs. We do seed the fields with considerable amounts of corn ahead of time doing our best to bait them. For the things that we do control, we strive for the very best.
We declined your request for a refund and instead offered you a free HeliBacon gift. We wish that all of your future hunts are perfectly successful and in large quantities. Best hunting to you!

Exceptional experience. From booking to hunt, everything was handled professionally. My boyfriend has hunted all over the world so I wanted to surprise him with something unique as a Christmas present. This fit the bill. The helicopter training and firearms dos and dont’s were spot on. The hunt was surreal! Chase handled the copter with precision to ensure we could take perfect shots. We even got on a few coyotes!
The night hunt with Jimmy Galindo was definitely a highlight! I have never hunted with a more enthusiastic guide who was dedicated to finding game. Jimmy had all the latest technology night vision gear to make this an enjoyable successful hunt. His passion for his craft is very contagious and his sense of humor is second to none!
We will definitely be back!

This was an absolutely amazing experience! I was looking for something extraordinary to do for my high school senior son since most of his senior year was cancelled. The heli hunt and full auto shoot was perfect. Chris was very responsive and answered all our questions instantly. Chase was a fantastic pilot, guide and instructor. He advised us of every noise, vibration and possible turbulence before it may happen. It never did, extremely smooth and controlled flying. He got us on pigs the whole flight. Even went a little over time when we lined up with a large group right at the end of our time which shows they are truly there for you to get the perfect experience. Taylor was great. He made sure we had what we needed when we needed at all times and it was nice for my son to have someone to relate to. Top notch hunt, very safe and would reccomend it for any hunter or shooter.

From my first email to the day of the experience, Helibacon was 5 stars all the way.
The team was incredibly responsive as we planned our trip sharing the best times of year to attend (we went in March) as well as what to expect once we landed on our dates. The quality and caliber of their equipment as well as their safety protocols clearly set them apart from the many options available.
My buddy and I did "The Works" package and it was worth every penny. Our stay at the Tonkaway Ranch was top notch and the night hunt with Jimmy & Keith was excellent as it rivaled the actual helicopter hunt. Access to hunting with thermal gear and top-notch semi-auto rifles with two guides who literally love what they do is a unique experience not available to everyone depending on where you live.
The facts: it is windy and can be chilly on the Huey, bring layers, we saw hogs but not as many as we would have liked, hence why this is still a "hunting trip" keep that in mind. Both the helicopter crew and the night hunt guides did everything they could to maximize the chance at hogs. Come rested up as it is a big day starting at 4:30 a.m. and ending at 1:30 a.m.
This is a bucket list item that did not disappoint and with a level of accessibility that is unique for what could easily look "too extreme" for many, simply not the case. The oldest hunter on the Huey with our group was 73 yrs old, and he kicked butt when it came to the hogs.
Do it, as you will not regret it!

This weekend my friend Robert and I had an amazing experience at HeliBacon. Unfortunately, an online review will not do this weekend any justice, but I wanted to make sure that I let the crew at HeliBacon know just how great of a job they did.
Informative:
As soon as I sent our information over, I received a detailed email from Christopher that had all the information I needed and saved me from having to do any research. I was very impressed when I found out that the first person to contact us is also the CEO of HeliBacon.
Welcoming atmosphere:
The moment walked in the door we were met by Josh, who made us feel very welcome and introduced us to Hunter the Crew Chief. Josh then walked us over to Taylor who provided a great customer service experience and got us squared away with our paperwork.
Briefings:
Hunter and Josh conducted one of the most informative/impressive briefings I have ever heard and answered all my questions before I could even ask.
As a firearms instructor, it was nice to see how patient they were when getting shooters up to par with the fundamentals of operating a rifle.
The Flight:
Chase can fly the hell out of that helicopter. Not only was that one of the smoothest helo rides ever but chase also keeps you very well informed throughout the flight. At one point he stated that we would be experiencing a bumpy ride due to 55mph winds and yet the ride was still smoother than a baby’s ass.
If you have any hesitation when it comes to booking a reservation with HeliBacon, don’t! these guys will take care of you, and you will have a blast!

These guys are first class all the way. I have heard many different stories of helicopter hog hunts that are never short of amazing but none have compared to the level of professionalism HeliBacon brought to our experience. If you are considering a helicopter hunt I cant express enough how seriously these guys take your safety while providing fun life long memories.

The pilot chase can fly that bird! And the night guide Jimmy is a funny dude that knows his stuff! If you’re going with a bigger group (more than 2) be prepared to only go 2 at a time in both the helicopter and the ground hunt. Also (this is just to help them and yourself out) if you don’t have any firearms experience you should at least go to a range a couple times to get familiarized so your guides can focus more on the hunt than babysitting. They are very knowledgeable but it would just be doing yourself a favor to maximize useful time. Bring gloves for the night hunt and don’t be scared to help your guides with moving your kills. Great guys all around!
