Did a quick one night tent camp stay. It was the perfect getaway with the family. The campgrounds were clean. All the sites were conveniently located near the water. The Lake itself seemed back to normal levels. The fish were biting! So much so, that my kids have gotten the fishing fever. They are dying to go back again. The... More

It's too small to call it a park, more of just a boat ramp. There's nothing really here to see. I'd say rent a boat if there were any here for rent.

We visited this state park a couple of months ago. We stayed here for three nights in our travel trailer. We thoroughly enjoyed this park. The lake is beautiful and was completely full when we visited. The RV sites were well maintained and offered full hook ups. This is a larger park with several areas. We enjoyed hiking, fishing, and... More

We recently stayed in the Council Bluff area of Lake Brownwood State Park in our RV (Airstream). We were there during the week (Tues-Thurs) and it was quiet and clean. Of the 20 sites there were at most 4-5 occupied. The rest rooms and showers were clean. Nice views down to Lake Brownwood below the bluff. Watch out for tiny... More

This State Park has been in Brownwood Texas for many years. The buildings and cabins were built by the CCC's ( Civilian Conservation Corps ) in the 1930's and are made out of stone. The cabins are inexpensive, and very clean with excellent Air Conditioning and Heating, showers, toilet, comfortable beds, stove and refrigerator, out-door Bar-B-Q grills for each cabin..... More

Three of us friends got to stay in Oak Lodge at Lake Brownwood State Park. It was clean, in good repair, and comfortable. The beds are full size, so one of us slept on the very comfortable long couch. The A/C unit is noisy so we turned it off at night. A roadrunner and a wild turkey hung around the... More

In response to the one reviewer who had a bad experience at Lake Brownwood with noisy, close neighbors and dirty bathrooms..... I don't know what was going on when you visited but that is definitely NOT the norm at Lake Brownwood. We live 50 miles away and camp there at least 2 or 3 times a year. We are heading... More

Great for the family! Lots of options to keep you engaged. Especially nice for younger kids with the ducks, geese and playground.

We stayed in Cabin # 6, which is a two person cabin situated on the bluff overlooking Lake Brownwood. We were pleased to find the cabin very clean with everything in working order. The cabin included a comfortable double bed, night stand, bedside lamp, foot tables, and lounging chairs. The bathroom was clean and included a toilet, sink & nice... More

I recently spent 4 nights in one of the CCC stone cabins. Very nice experience. Good trails, good lake access, and very nice staff. The cabins are fairly comfortable, but not perfect. Good kitchen area, hot water, plenty of room. Beds are mushy and probably old, but it works for a few nights! Cabins have good access to trails and... More
