Excellent birding location being in the migration path along the coastline. Spot alligators on the auto tour, be cautious for snakes along paths, each season offers its own beauty with various plants and animals passing through. The staff does and excellent job maintaining the thousands...More

This a one of the smaller reserve in the area and not as much wildlife to see. It is still well maintained and pleasant drive. Fall and Spring are the best seasons to visit.

We stumbled upon this place driving to our destination. We had a good time at Moccasin Pond watching the gators. It was nice to drive through and see the birds and scenery. Not much to do here other than drive through. Not a day trip...More

Four of us met a ranger and he guided us to the trail that led to the San Bernard Live Oak Champion. It's amazing. There are many more trails and things to see, which we will visit another time

You never know what will show up for you to watch. Alligators, snakes, deer, wild hogs and all kinds of birds. I ride through there several times a year and always enjoy looking for different animals. As mentioned, bring some mosquito spray.
