We stayed in the cabins right on the lake. They were reasonably outfitted. Gorgeous view and quiet lots of hiking and biking trails and water access.

Timms is so large, much bigger than I had guesses but my best thought is either at the camp ground or TN 127 (Aedc) road by the VFW is a campground and you can drop in a canoe or kayak and swim. I think the city is Dechard

Mr. Randy Tipps is correct. The lake is named after Abner Tims who helped construct a ford where the current dam now sits.
