We visited Discovery Park of America in Union City, TN yesterday (6/28/20) with my 5 year old granddaughter. I highly recommend this attraction especially when we all have concerns about visiting venues such as these during this crazy time. In terms of cleanliness, I would rate this park a 10. (They are currently closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for deep cleaning.) The 100,000 square foot museum has something for everyone - classic car collection, aquarium, fossil and space exhibits, all of which are excellently presented. There is a separate admission to experience an earthquake simulation which occurred in the nearby New Madrid fault area in 1811. The tower experience is also an extra fee. In addition to the museum, there is a 50 acre heritage park with primitive outbuildings, many of which were moved to this park to depict rural life in the 1800s. This was one of my favorite parts of the park.

Thank you for your review! We are so glad you and your granddaughter had a wonderful experience with us. We do know during these uncharted waters that guests may be hesitant to visit, but we do take the COVID-19 seriously and clean everything to make sure our guests feel safe when they visit Discovery Park of America. Thank you again, and we hope to see you again here soon!

There are lots if activities for the entire family to enjoy. Plants and landscaping very pretty this time of year. We were disappointed that most of the tractors in the museum have been replaced by photos and displays.
Also the cafe was packed as usual with only 2 people taking orders. We wasted over an hour and half standing in line, waiting for food and eating our lunch. As many people that eat there, you would better serve your customers with more options for purchasing food. The outdoor snack bar had a ridiculously long line there to. It is quite a feat trying to get hungry and thirsty kids something to eat and drink!

Best 7 hours with our three 6 yr old granddaughters. We got there when they opened at 10 and stayed until they closed at 5.

No rides but so much to do and see and beautiful grounds. Would recommend for anyone with kids up to about 12 or even couples just wanting a weekend getaway.

Staff was awesome. Restaurant was average.

Plan to stay all day because there is a lot to see and do! There is a restaurant on site that has a nice diner feel to it. They offer a vegan Beyond Burger (which was very much appreciated by this vegan). There is a lot of variety with the displays that are offered. There are quite a few replicas, but they are noted, and they are well done. The only thing that stood out to me as something that was lacking is the lack of discussion on the Civil Rights movement. There was some information on the reconstruction, but given the large amount of artifacts and information given for other periods in our states history, I felt some focus could be given to Civil Rights.

The temporary sculpture exhibit by the artist John Toras that was set up throughout the grounds was excellent. We went on a weekday in May, and it was not crowded and the weather was perfect for exploring the large outside portion of the exhibits.

We had driven about 2 hours to get here with our 13 yr old granddaughter, so we ate lunch in the cafe first. It was very good food and very reasonably priced. It was almost 1 before we began our tours. We started outside with the old settlement, then the antique tractors, 1 room schoolhouse, Blacksmith shop, Gristmill, Blue Angel & Thunderbird planes, Huey Helicopter, Moon Dome and Missile. We might have covered 1/5 of the outside. Inside the museum we saw some of the items on lower level & entry level. Antique cars, Military Gallery, torture chamber exhibits, Native American Gallery. Never made it to the 3rd level! There is soo much to see, we will definitely have to come back. We highly recommend Discovery Park of America.

Much larger than appears from outside. Three levels inside with displays of dinesaurs, spearheads, live fish, various local items used in the past, and simple scientific interactive displays for kids. It was too cold to venture outside much, but there are lovely log buildings that look like a small village. Outdoor activity items for kids, like a small safe Zipline, large scale musical instruments, playground, etc. Lots of outdoor things to keep young kids engaged. Very safe, clean and very nice staff. We ate at the cafe inside the museum, which was pretty good. Fair prices. I was surprised it was so crowded, but not so much you have trouble moving around. We did not have enough time to see everything in one day. Really should have two days, especially in good weather. Admission is reasonable. Around 15$ for an adult. They give AAA, AARP and military discounts. Gift shop is nice. Grounds are very well kept and lovely. If you have kids, a must see if in the area.

We drove over from Reelfoot as this was about the only thing listed to do in the area. Much nicer than we expected. It has something for everyone here. Plenty of kids things, both inside and outside. Interesting exhibits for adults from military, classic and collectible cars to science, civil war, trains and farm equipment. You could easily spend all day here if you have kids and still wouldn’t see everything.

We usually go to the Discovey Park of America a couple times a year, it never gets old. You can easily spend the entire day exploring their exhibits. The grounds are vast and there is alot to look at inside and outside. Surprisingly the cafe has delicious food! I would highly recommend taking a trip there.

We needed a fun getaway and discovery park was the perfect fit. We drove through the lights last night and then visited the museum the next day. Holiday Inn Express was next door and perfect stay! So much to see and do inside and out! Dinosaurs bones, cars, military section, water play, energy and watched the space movie. Slide was crazy fast lol!! Outside we visited play area, train station and STEM area. We just ran out of time! Ate in cafe. Food good and not crazy prices like most tourist places! So much more too see, we can’t wait to return! Everyone wore a mask! Sanitizer everywhere! No crowds and we visited on a Monday from 11-3:45. Tower was a huge hit for our family! We will return!

Wow! So much to see and do. We did everything in one full day, but this is a two-day place if you really want read and absorb all this park has to offer. Can’t wait to bring family to visit this place.
