We rode our motorcycles last fall and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous, this is a must travel rode especially if it is in the fall and the trees have changed color.

We took the 17 mile Foothills Parkway from Townsend to Chilhowee. Wow. The multiple stops to see different views are well worth it. We went around 9 in the morning so we could see the mist above the valleys and it was stunning. be on the lookout for the the short trail to Look Tower. The signage was only visible... More

This was a very enjoyable drive with numerous overlooks, but not quite as dramatic as Newfound Gap or Blue Ridge Parkway. However, it is way less crowded. We did the 1/2 mile hike to the top of Look Rock. It's only 1/2 mile, but it's pretty steep. I believe it's only 18 miles long, so 1 to 2 hours should... More

We have traveled on two sections of The Foothills Parkway. The section at I-40 has the most amazing views, you must stop on each side of the road to take-in the different views. Oh and have those cameras ready.

We decided to drive the parkway to see the beautiful smokies. We love the drive and even saw a bear in a parking lot. Made the day even better

The foothills Parkway was started in 1944 and remains unfinished today. There are three areas of the road have been completed and opened for motor vehicles. One extremely long section of the road was completed except for a bridge in the middle leaving the section of the road closed but is a favorite with bicyclist and hikers. That section commonly... Foot Hills Parkway is a very beautiful place and not many people ever venture out to see the views. We hiked up to the tower at Look Rock. I would encourage anyone going to the Great Smoky Mountains to check the Foothills Parkway out.
