The family and I stopped by Next to Heaven to zip line on our last day of vacation. Angela and Donnie were SO pleasant! Just good people. They were super friendly and very encouraging to my son, Grayson , who was a bit nervous. They took their time with us, took us around and showed us beautiful views and offered to take our pictures. When we went to leave they were putting up the horses and let us pet them a bit. That made my daughters day. Thanks guys! We will see you next time!

Was able to get a reservation over Memorial Day weekend and so glad I did! Such nice people who really want you to have a wonderful experience - and they love the animals so much! Our horses were Jacks, Butch, and Trigger and we loved them all. The ride itself was so beautiful and we were able really enjoy the trail. The horses all knew the route and Sage, the super sweet dog, was on our ride too - she was checking out the trail ahead of us and keeping us safe. What a sweetie she was. Thanks for a wonderful and memorable experience.

We stopped here after just seeing it along our drive to try to try to ride at the state park. The State park was a bust with crazy wait times. We were able to make a same day appt, go have lunch at elviras and come back. The ride was hilly and challenging, but the horses made it easy for even our 7 year old to get along just fine. We were tickled that Donny followed us up the mountain to take wonderful pictures for us. It was pricier than some other spots, but being able to make an appt and not wait in a crazy line, keep to just our group during covid and the pictures made it well worth it. And the views were spectacular!

Amazing experience! So much fun. Great people. You don’t need a guide because the horses are the guide! They are even trained to stop at the picture spot on top of the mountain. I have experience but I don’t think you would need any experience, a child could ride these guys especially since you really don’t have to steer. We rode Jack and Blaze and loved them. You can go at your pace (fast or slow) because you aren’t waiting on another group. It’s rare to find a place that will give you freedom over that. It’s about an hour ride, and I don’t think you can beat the price. The people were very friendly. I would definitely go back!

Great ride. Great friendly staff. The horses know the trail, so no guide needed, except for the cutest dog ever Sage. Sage took the lead the whole way.
The horses know just where to go and stop for photo op on top of mountain. There were 4 people in our group. 2 experienced riders and 2 novice riders. No problems for the new riders as the horses are very well trained. All the horses looked very well cared for and the staff seems to really care. Will do again next time I'm in Gatlinburg.

This trail ride was excellent. We rode Jill and Bubba, they were excellent horses and knew exactly what to do. There is a beautiful lookout to stop at and take pictures. The owners of the ranch were very helpful and kind. Great place!

Staff couldn’t have been any more pleasant! Horses were healthy and happy. We called this morning for an appointment and got in same day. Some of us more experienced than others, with one that had never even been on a horse before. Horses drive perfectly and we had a GREAT experience! Loved the quiet unguided ride.

It looks like they have gone out of business.
Main sign is gone and others are covered up. No horses in the fields or up in the barn ready to ride. Sad to see but understand in this crazy world we live in. They have come back before maybe they will again.

Incredibly relaxing trail ride on beautiful and mild mannered horses. We were especially pleased with how pleasant and informative everyone was that helped us get on the trail. Even Sadie the dog!! We had a range of experience riders to one first timer and everyone had a blast. If you're trying to decide... GO HERE!

I'm an experienced horsewoman and just wanted a trail ride in the Smokies while we were visiting the area. This place was pretty miserable by my standards. My horse's feet were badly overgrown and in need of a farrier. My husband's saddle was so loose before he got on he would have gone right over if I hadn't caught it and had the woman tighten it up--it was just barely on at all. The horses are not trained--per the owner, the horses are "plow horses" who only know how to carry a rider and that's it--so don't touch the reins! Except for the horse I was on who was a former cow horse. The owner's did NOT meet us at the highest point--halfway through the ride for pictures at the overlook and the horses just flat out refused to stop--I wrestled mine for 5 minutes and finally gave up. The trail was SO steep in places and washed out by rain with tons of rocks everywhere I couldn't imagine how an inexperienced rider could handle this and not hurt the horse--or slide off the saddle. It was quite frightening at times. We later learned that in this same area (not sure if it was the former owners of this place or another place) some of the horses had walked too close to the edge and erosion caused the bank to give way and horse and rider fell down the mountain--to their death!
The "1 hour" ride was only a half hour long and we did NOT run the horses, although mine was in the lead and kept at a very brisk walk and attempted to trot a bit--I would not let him because the trail was so rocky. Then, at the end, they tried to get pictuers of us and my horse would NOT stand still and seemed to really dislike the owner when she grabbed him--and then her husband came over and yanked on reins and savagely tore at the horses's mouth about 10 times, which only made the horse act up worse. Then he gave the horse the evil eye and said he was taking him right back out on the trail and he was NOT going to act like this again. I knew this meant he was going to beat the horse crazy. I've seen this attitude from some backwoods cowboys before and I don't even think these people were really horse people--they just ruled by intimidation, fear and pain. Also don' understand why nobody cared if we wore helmets--there none at the place. We brought our own, because as I said, I am an experienced rider. Very disappointed and felt sick about the situation the horses are living in. And for the record, I am not some namby pamby do-gooder who believes all animals should never have a harsh word said to them. They need discipline and coaching and a firm hand sometimes--I am an animal behaviorist as well and have worked with dogs, cats, horses and lions and tigers and small primates.
