We were hesitant to go on an unguided ride but glad every other place was "closed for the season". The owners at Next to Heaven are so friendly and helpful. We have some riding experience but don't ride very often. Who needs a guide when the horses are so well trained - they even stop at the most beautiful vantage... More

Amazing time, great experience, friendly and family oriented. We had a group of 10 with ages from 3 years old to 60 years old, we were welcomed with great friendliness and paired up right away with the best suited horses. I rode double with my toddler and she had a wonderful time, it was her 1st time riding a horse... More

I took my daughters and their friend for a horseback ride this afternoon and we had a great time. I saw this place on the way back to our cabin from Cade's Cove and what was appealing to me was that it was an unguided ride. The views were great and the horses were very well mannered and knew exactly... More

We visited during December when other stables had closed for the season. Comparing this experience to past experiences at other stables, I felt a bit disappointed. The horses did not seem well-cared for and the cost was quite a bit more than other stables in the area...but this was the only stable open. My husband and sons enjoyed the zip-lining... More

This was truly an amazing, memorable experience. The owners are warm & welcoming with true southern hospitality. I was able choose the horse I wanted to ride, a beautiful black & white American Paint. Hubby was on the lead horse. We got to experience the beautiful mountains by ourselves. We took our time & savored the foliage, gorgeous views and... More

Highly recommended! No guide! No helmet required! Staff were friendly and they do not combine groups. The horses were calm, well behaved and obedient. The horses know the trail well! And the ride was not just for beginners - steep slopes up and down. This is a Christian business and the wonderful scripture signs along the way go with the... More

We are both experienced riders so we wanted an unguided ride, because we thought it would be more fun without a group of people being with us. The staff was super friendly. The ride was about an hour and while we was on the overlook, one of the staff rode a 4wheeler up and offered to take a picture for... More

I had some friends come into town to visit and one of them wanted to go horseback riding. We wanted to try a new place as we had gone riding at another place in the Smoky Mountains last year. We decided to try Next to Heaven and I don't think that I will go anywhere else in the future! We... More

My husband and I were here a few days ago with our 3 kids, the youngest being 7. We had the most incredible time and the staff was super nice and made my children feel very safe. It was their first time riding a horse and they loved it. The fact that we could ride as a family with no... More
