- Lily MTellico Plains, Tennessee4 contributionsBeautifulI love this place. Unlike Bald River Falls there’s very little traffic or people. Nice place to bring lunch and your dog in hot humid August! Be careful walking. I broke my wrist soon after coming out of this fall ouch! This photo was taken in 2015. RIP Cowboy!Visited March 2020Traveled soloWritten February 18, 2021
- Flat EartherWinthrop Harbor, Illinois123 contributionsNice little waterfall, the drive in is quite a tripWe were driving through and saw the sign that said "Falls 3 miles" so decided to check it out. For the love of god please know that the road going to the falls seems ok at first, but just keeps getting worse and worse. As a flatlander I was terrified. At one point the road was mostly washed out, but there was no place to turn back and I sure as hell wasn't going to back up through switchbacks, so I gunned it over the washout and was thankful I didn't pop any tires. At one point the road leans. Your uphill tires are up and your downhill tires are down and you feel like you are going to tip over and plummet to your death. Blind corners, one lane road. Poor signage (turn right at the intersection). Small parking lot where people have no regard for conserving space. The walk was something else. I quite enjoyed it but did not know to take some water. Kids made it better than the adults. Just keep in mind that once you go in, it is all uphill on the way out. Make sure you are in adequate health before you attempt this. The waterfalls are nice. When you think you are at the falls, you really aren't. Go around the tree and the path continues. You haven't made it until you are at the rock steps. 4* because it was an adventure and I survived. Though while at the falls, I thought to myself, "at least I got to see a nice waterfall before dying on the drive back down" I did not die. I will not be returning though.Visited May 2020Written May 18, 2020
- Olga PUnited States48 contributionsGreat hiking adventureThe hiking to the falls was about 30 minutes and it was relatively easy if you are in good health conditions and can handle a few hikes up rocks and over tree roots and branches. The falls were beautiful and the water clear and very cold. We had a blast in the water and then hiked back to the car. Once you are back in your car, If you have a Jeep or a similar high car you can take the alternative exit instead of returning through the same road you drove in and have a super exiting adventure through rough roads and several creeks... but do not go that way with a regular car or you’ll be sorry.Visited July 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten July 19, 2020
- limeyguy108 contributionsDangerous Road to fallsThe road to the falls is basically a forest trail. Steep drops to the side very few pull overs to allow oncoming cars to pass. If you take the high road to the left you have a long walk down to falls. We got there and was no parking so tried the right fork to go down and see it from the bottom. Do not do this you have to ford several streams and navigate washouts. I drive a Chevy truck and bottomed out in a washout and wrecked the front of my truck. Never did get to see the falls. Go there at your own riskVisited March 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten March 25, 2022

- Mark CKnoxville, Tennessee2,317 contributionsVery good trail, but challenging.Ok, I want to let you know this is a very good trail but it is challenging on the was up, it is a gradual decline down all the way down the trail, it can be dangerous in some areas so be careful. The waterfall itself is awesome and well worth the hike. Some very inconsiderate people have thrown trash around the parking area which is unfortunate. Be advised the 3 miles up to the trailhead is a bit rough and its recommended to use a high vehicle, a low car may drag. With all said, it's worth the time to go for a hike to see a great waterfall.Visited November 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten November 12, 2020
- JadejedKathleen, Georgia4 contributionsWorth it!We read reviews about how bad the roads were and I’ve got to say that if you grew up on a farm or near dirt roads the road really isn’t that bad. The hike is really nice and the area isn’t very crowded. The falls are stunning and well worth the walk down the tree roots and rock to get there. We were the only people at the bottom of the falls for a full half hour.Visited June 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten June 18, 2022
- MGolmonDenham Springs, Louisiana25 contributionsNot an easy hike! The road to the trail head is awful! The part that is paved is full of large pot holes. You will go between paved and gravel road. This is a one lane road and there are several washouts. The sign said 3 miles - we were actually able to drive 2 miles in and found a place to turn around and leave. We never made it to the trail head. We understand from a friend that after you get to the top, you still have to hike a mile to a mile and a half to actually get to the waterfall. For the adventure seeker, you may find this quite the adventure! Certainly not for those just wanting to see a beautiful waterfall without the hike. I am told that the view is worth the hike because it is beautiful. We just couldn't handle the drive up...plus it was a very hot day.Visited June 2016Traveled with friendsWritten June 26, 2016
- DWcpaMemphis, Tennessee119 contributionsNice waterfall on the road less travelledDon't be fooled by the sign on the main highway, that's the only signage help you'll get finding the trailhead to this nice waterfall. No other signs marking the waterfall even at the trailhead. The road to the trailhead turns into a gravel/dirt road. I made it fine in a 2 wheel drive Ford Ranger on a dry day, but some ruts would be difficult in a passenger car and beware the road might be impassable for anything less than 4x4 after a rain. When you come to the T in the dirt road, turn right at the 170 sign, and go up to the parking area. The trail starts to the left of the 170 sign at the trailhead. Trail is less than a mile long, downhill from the parking area (uphill on the way out!) and not overly difficult. The falls are beautiful and had lots of water in the Spring.Visited March 2018Traveled as a coupleWritten April 1, 2018
- Dana H1 contributionCouldn’t reachWe were so disappointed by the state of the road to get there. We are currently road tripping with my mom-in-law and 3 boys (15, 7, and 6) in a passenger van. The road was extremely narrow, windy and the dirt/gravel had huge pot holes. Thankfully no other cars came our way because there is absolutely no room to pass without falling off the cliff. We found a small place to be able to turn the car around about a mile from the trailhead, which gave me a heart attack. Like I said, we were extremely disappointed we couldn’t get to this one ☹️Visited October 2018Traveled with familyWritten October 22, 2018

Off the beaten path is a trailhead that leads you to a beautiful waterfall. The road to get there is rough! SUVs are required. The good thing is, I had the whole falls to myself on a Saturday at 10am. It’s a steep switch back trail but the view is worth it. Watch out for leaves of three.

I feel blessed to have not gotten hurt in our search to see the falls. The highway sign says three miles - the road quickly turns to dirt and at one point divides - no sign as which way to go. We ended up on a treacherous path with no where to turn around. Luckily we were in a 4 WD drive truck. We were so grateful to actually find a kind man working on this narrow path on a Track-Hoe. He was such a welcome sight. He directed us to a place to turn around and explained that the roads aren't marked and lack signage. He was somewhat shocked we were even able to make it to him. We did make it out and to the other road (which honestly wasn't much better). There was a small area to park and the hike down wasn't bad at all (lol) but after seeing this very small waterfall the walk back up was just mere punishment for a day wasted. I recommend booking a flight to Jamaica and visiting Dunns River Falls - a lot less hassle and beautiful waterfall.

We found this place while driving around Tellico. It took us a 20 minutes walk from the parking area to arrive. Is not very visited so expect slippery trials and rocks and trees on the path. Beautiful!
