Great family vacation and break from non-stop Covid Headlines
Fall Creek Falls is up on the Cumberland Plateau and is usually about ten degrees cooler than Central Florida, so it is a great place to go to get away from the heat. We stayed in the Fisherman Villas, which are located over the lake and you can fish off the back porch. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing. We rented a kayak and paddle board all day ($35 ea.) and explored most of the large lake. The villas are spacious (3 bed/2 bath/fireplace) and the beds were comfortable. There were plenty of hiking trails and ability to take long walks for exercise or leisure. They are scheduled to finish construction of a new conference center/Inn by 2021 sometime.

    Stunning Views
Finding the Falls was easy. The signage is clear & the roads are easy to navigate. The park is clean and very well-maintained. There is a large lake for fishing,at which we caught the most amazing sunset! There are two major waterfalls in the park. We stopped at Fall Creek Falls first. The water flow is like an inviting shower set against beautiful trees & rock formations. Piney Creek Falls was our next step. The water flow is much stronger, but it is a bit of a hike to get to the Falls. But, once you hike down the rocks & come into the clearing, it is SO worth it. The view is breathtaking! To be able to look over the trees around the waterfall is just amazing! As you drive through the park, the scenery doesn't stop. This place is well worth the trip!

    Wonderful Place Especially Now
A few of us got together & rented a Fisherman Cabin for a few nights. I had never been to this park before. The cabin was delightful. It hung right out over the water and it was fun to see people fishing right over their covered porch. It was clean and very roomy. There was a full bath down stairs & a half bath upstairs situated between the 2 bedrooms. The kitchen had everything you could need and we loved that all the shelves labeled as to what was where. There was a nice dining table and sofa with a fireplace. There also were 3 bedroom 1 story versions of the cabins. We will probably try 1 of those next time as they had sidewalks down to some of the cabins. The 2 bedroom cabins require quite a hike down stairs with your luggage & food to reach the cabins. Also the stairs in 2 bedroom cottage were a bit steep & narrow to the bedrooms. We loved location and it gave us easy access to all going on in the park. The waterfalls were numerous. Some were easy to see others required hikes. There were cabins not on the water & plenty of campsites. There was a very cute general store. They also rented canoes & fishing boats. There was nice playgrounds & other activities. There were plenty of hiking trails from easy to strenuous. The scenery was beautiful. We found everyone we encountered had masks on or if they saw you coming put them on. Self distancing was very evident. They are rebuilding the lodge on lake so lodge rooms not available now. Tennessee should be very proud of this lovely park. We will be back for sure. Right now with Covid 19 this is a perfect way to get out of your house & enjoy the great outdoors & still feel safe. Oh & lastly but not least the waterfalls were awe inspiring!

Luxury at a TN state park
The newly built lodge is beautiful. There is an outdoor pool with towels available. One of the two fire pits was operating and enjoyed by the lodgers. The restaurant has a smaller than usual menu BUT now there is a full bar which the former inn never had. I understand that there are plans to have an enhanced menu soon. The lobby is reminiscent of a Colorado sky lodge. Of course the scenery is outstanding. We stayed in the double king room which was huge with a large bath with divided sinks. My husband played golf and declared it to be one of the best courses around the area. A continental breakfast is included which was somewhat standard fare. We were disappointed in the unavailability of fresh eggs etc. There is so much to do in this state park and there is an online guide of activities which I recommend reviewing prior to visiting.

    Can’t wait to go back
Definitely the best state park we have ever been to. Nice campsites ( some do not have sewer) Beautiful waterfalls. The camp-store has everything. Fishing is easily accessible from the dock or shore or rent a no motor boat. They even have a great golf course. Camp in tents, RV or their cabins. (They are building a hotel and restaurant) Everything is 2-3 minutes away by car inside the park. Be aware the nearest “real” town is about 45 minutes away as well as gas. The pool is. Loses because of COVID but looked fantastic. I will admit the trails are a bit steep, slippery and rocky. We had deer everyday in or beside our camp. There is even a riding stable

    Impressive falls, nice lodge
Fall Creek Falls has a new lodge that is lovely and the restaurant overlooks the lake. The menu was limited when we were there, but hopefully, more choices have been added. The Falls are quite impressive, particularly after heavy rains, but if you want to go to the base of the falls, be prepared for the rigorous hike back up!!! I don't recommend it for the faint of heart or those who have a sedentary life style. If you don't want to stay in the lodge, there are fisherman cabins that extend over the lake, making it handy to fish without leaving your lodging...except there were flooded in the unusually heavy rains and have not been accepting reservations when we were there.

Tornado warning didn't spoil the adventure!!
Rented a couple of cabins at Fall Creek Falls. One inland and one lakeside. Lakeside had a beautiful view across the water with a balcony over the lake. Wood burning stove in the lounge, wifi, plenty of hot water and central heating. Inland cabin was just as cozy with a gas fire instead. Well equipt kitchen in both, comfy beds and a great shower. Exploring the park, Buzzards Roost is epic! What a view! Georges Hole, probably my favourite spot so far. Wish we’d thought to bring scuba gear. Far too chilly for.a dip without it and who knows what treasures were laying in wait on the bottom. Back to the cabin for some dinner, our UK cell phones started going nuts. Never heard that noise before. Tornado warning alert!! Then the power went out. Tucked up safe and sound in our cabin, the wind was mental and so much rain!! Roads were blocked by giant fallen trees so we were stuck at the cabins for the night. Managed to get a fire going (wet wood was no match for our welsh fire lighting skills!!). Power was out until morning. All in all a great adventure, nobody got hurt and it’ll certainly be a weekend to remember!! Second day at Fall Creek Falls, we decided to take on the challenge of the Cable Trail. A thick cable running down a ravine, scramble climb your way down to the base of the falls. A bit slippery due to all the rain but nothing we couldn’t handle. Glad we didn’t take it on the day before in the rain though! A quick visit to the gift shop and we were headed back to Murfreesboro.

    Breathtaking
The waterfalls are awe inspiring. They look like something you’d see in the Amazon. The hikes are moderately difficult. I’m not in great shape but I was able to run the paw paw trail and live to tell the tale. I’d recommend getting appropriate shoes if you decide to descend to the base of the waterfall as the rocks are slick.

    Didn't get to go
The park is great. Have camped there before. Unfortunately after making a reservation for a campsite a very nice lady will call you to inform you due to circumstances she does not control the booking website that the state hired to do that job has triple booked the camp site and you are out of luck. They did give me a refund that might be back in my account some time in the next 3 business days? Anyone know what float is?

Waterfalls with Amazing hikes. Clean & beautiful park. Camping, swimming, biking, hiking, waterfalls & more
Absolutely beautiful park. Highly recommend Falls Creek Falls State Park in Spencer TN. Beautiful park with camping, hiking, biking, several waterfalls. marina on a lake, snack bar & grill. We went for the day yesterday not expecting much & spent 6 hours hiking, swimming. The drive thru the park reminded us of the Blue Ridge Parkway. They say they don't recommend dogs but we took our 18 lb yorkie who is fit & healthy & he did great hiking & swimming. Hike to bottom of Falls Creek Falls is steep & very rocky. Other hikes to waterfalls are easier. All were worth it. Bring water, snacks & towel.

Beautiful area and very quiet. Enjoyed the location and convenience of the Landside cabins. Cabins are small with only one bathroom and very uncomfortable beds and furniture. The porches are awesome and outdoor grill and picnic table are nice. So much to do you will need several days or even a week. Nothing but a dollar general within 30-45 minutes so come prepared.

My husband, three kids (11, 10, 6) as well as 12 other family members ages 4 months to 69 spent a Saturday at Fall Creek Falls. Everyone enjoyed it. Plenty of picnic tables, restrooms, and a playground. Kids enjoyed looking at animals in nature center. Overlook to view falls and take pictures. Hike down to the falls is not for everyone. The trail has a rail but there are uneven, slippery rocks, and takes about 30 minutes. Make sure to wear appropriate shoes (no sandals or flip flops). Our 6 year old had to be carried part of the way back up from the falls. We would definitely go again, the hike is worth it!

The best part of these falls, is the accessibility for all. The main path displays the gorgeous falls and is accessible for all - even wheelchair. But there is plenty for the more adventurous. The swinging bridge (now closed) is really impressive. The path to the base of the falls is for the adventurous and determined. It has steps and paths, but is by no means a clear, easy walk. Some spots are wet and slippery and one must be careful. It is totally worth the .4 mile hike.
