If you just need a break from the hectic day, you can find a calming, peaceful place here. Water over the dam, some fishing for fun, and a great picnic place.

Fisherman's Park Dam was very crowded on the day that we visited. Lots of families were at the "beach" area swimming or taking a dip, despite the warning about the swiftness of the water. Others were sitting on top of the damn suntanning and relaxing....More

I’m told that this is a favorite spot for locals and I can see why. Such beautiful scenery and wonderful sounds of nature. I’d love to return and do some fishing and photography. Although I’m posting pics similar to the those from other people, this...More

Upon driving down the highway headed to get something to eat, we were quickly sidetracked by this beautiful sight. We went in January and despite the cold air we had to get out and capture the beauty. We will definitely return.

We love taking walks and watching the river when we are in town! Very beautiful and peaceful. Wish people would not litter!

Fisherman's Park, is a decent place to fish or just relax. Due to the swift current is IS NOT a safe area to swim.

I don't know if you'd call this a "park". It's a nice little area for taking a short stroll. Apparently it is the locals' spot for fishing and taking a dip. Otherwise, the dam is soothing to watch and nice for pictures. We could see...More

Fisherman's Park is a nice area with concrete picnic tables overlooking the Duck River spillway. Located across the river on Hwy 231 just past the historic downtown square heading south. It's not unusual to find folks enjoying bank fishing below the spillway. Nice place to...More

Fun to watch the fisherman or just watch the water. Really good after a heavy rain. City does a good job keeping it clean.

The dam area would be pretty for pictures. We walked down the river/creek for a bit following along the edge and going on some paths through the trees. I spoke with a couple of folks out there and apparently it is a pretty good spot...More
