Fun day on the River, nice people working at the shop, great tubes (enjoyed the premium tube with the cup holder and head rest). I recommend getting a paddle for those times when the River is flowing slow and need to get moving a bit.

We live locally and rented a cabin for my grandmother's 80th birthday. This place is down the road from my house so we decided to give it a try rather than driving out to Townsend since we had dinner cooking. Took our grandma with us, ages of the whole family ranged from 15- 80 y/o and a great time was had by all! Most of us had water shoes, but one had to buy them and they were a little pricy, but overall the experience was great and so much fun! We didn't have to wait long at all for the bus to come pick us up and the tubes were all in good condition. (some of us pregramed a little, but you can take coolers with you also!)

We happened to be heading toward the Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park when we spotted people floating in the river off the roadway. We had no idea this gem of an experience was even here. The float rental was affordable and it truly was a lazy and calm river. The people running the place were so friendly.

After being closed for 5 days due to low water levels caused by lack of rain, we finally got to go after two days of short showers. The water level was perfect; we were told there may be 2 or 3 spots in which we’d have to carry our tubes, but we made it over the rapids without getting up once. The full trip took about 3 hours as the water flowed at a slow pace. Our 10 and 11 year old daughters had a great time. We floated and talked and laughed. It was a beautiful day. We were passed by a total of 6 kayakers and never saw anyone else on tubes. We essentially had the river to ourselves. We passed by a few folks at cabins that said hello. The people that run River Romp are extremely kind and friendly. So much so that we decided to buy t-shirts as thanks to them and as a reminder of the lovely day.

Had an amazing family experience at the River Romp with our two boys, ages 7 & 14. The staff was friendly, professional and very accommodating. They even sell water shoes at great prices, since most stores in town were sold out. We decided to go the day of and just showed up with no reservations. Although, I do recommend calling ahead to check out the weather and river conditions for the day. The river was peaceful and totally relaxing with beautiful scenery. We even encountered some cows in the river. I would definitely recommend River Romp and plan on visiting again.
