The best thing about this tube ride is the distance that you get to go. Unless the water is up, there may be a place or two where you have to walk, because you'll drag the bottom. I do not like to tube when the...More

We visited River Romp since it was close to Sevierville and wish we would have gone somewhere else. The highway is right next to the river and the traffic is loud. The water was low and we were constantly hitting rocks. There’s not that many...More

As many guests have posted the river varies in depth. The majority of the river is relatively shallow, but there are some areas of the river that are over 6+feet.

Depends on the water levels and currents but Id say 3- 3 1/2 hours in total. Highly recommend taking a paddle to help in slow spots and to keep from hitting tree branches and rocks.

River Rat (Townsend) or River Romp (Sevierville)? (3 Replies)
Have 8 year olds that love to swim! Which has best gear, scenery, facilities, and customer service?

Haven't tried the Romp. The Rat has the best tubes in Townsend, life vests if you need them, private changing rooms, snack shop next door, shaded picnic area, and friendly folks that work there. Several locations along the Little River between Wears Valley Bridge and swinging bridge take out with depths over 6' that are great for swimming.
Tubing- River Rage or Smoky Mtn River Rat ?????? (12 Replies)
Hi Everyone, We will be in GB/PF arriving on Sunday for a week (cant believe its finally here-so excited!!!!!). I wanted to try tubing with the family. Myself, hubby, 2 daughters ages 7 & 3. Just wondering if any of you have any experiences with these two companies in Townsend: River Rage & River Rat. They both tube the same river it seems(Little River). River Rat says they have a family float for ages 2& up. River Rage starts at age 3 & up. My 7yr old is a pretty good swimmer and my 3yr...More

Last summer we tubed with River Rat out of Townsend & I thought that it was pretty smooth along the stretch of river that we were on. I would have actually liked it to be more lively, but if I were taking my children 4 & 7, I would feel perfectly safe there. Just practice common sense water safety & you should be fine. Make sure & bring some river shoes to avoid your feet being cut on the rocks. Have fun!!

Half Price Tickets at Half Off Depot (8 Replies)
In a previous post someone mentioned they purchased half price tickets online from Half Off Depot. Has anyone else purchased tickets from here? I found half price tickets for Wahoo Ziplines, River Romp and Cirque de China. It almost sounds too good to be true, but as there are limited tickets available I don't want to miss out if this is a legitimate place. Do you get gift certificates for all attractions so you aren't locked into a certain date? The only restrictions I see is that the...More
