We enjoyed several waterfalls during our visit to Tennessee. This was my favorite. Twin Falls, while part of Rock Island State Park, is not in the main part of the park itself. There is a separate parking lot and several steps to go down to the falls, but it is beautiful. I don't know how far the trail goes alongside the falls, but I walked a short ways and enjoyed several views of falls. I didn't see much else in the park itself, but I was on a mission to find the falls. If you like waterfalls, this one is easy to access and beautiful.…

I was mesmerized by this place. It seemed every few steps there was another waterfall. The twin falls were just incredible. Due to the time of day, we did not have a chance to walk the entire length of the Downstream Trail (which faces the Twin Falls. (While the Collins River Loop was a nice walk, there was nothing spectacular about it.) The park is separated by the river. There are two different entrance points. There is a bridge that runs across the damn, but I am not sure how often it is open to the public. A park staff member was very helpful in providing directions. There are some "interactive falls" where you are walking in and across water so be careful or bring a walking stick. I walked several of the trails which ranged from moderate to difficult. Walking along Eagle Trail was amazing. You along the top of a rock wall with the river dozens of feet below. The short and extreme walk at Blue Hole gave you a feeling of being in the waterfall. There appeared to be several waterfalls that fell down the sides of these rock walls that could be heard, but not seen so well. I am not sure how easy it would be to get a boat into the water and float downstream. The Great Falls allowed you to walk along the river as well in an area that sometimes gets flooded by the damn. The geology of the area is incredible. I am not sure if a more detailed explanation or display was available. Be sure to give yourselves several hours at the park to enjoy everything it offers. …

My photos don’t do this justice!! It was amazing to see this in person. We have 2 kids (10 and 13) who were able to navigate down to the very edge of the water with no problems. It was easy to access and made for some beautiful pictures. The old cotton mill was a neat part of history to take in. Definitely worth the trip. …

I’ve grown up in Tennessee and never knew about this place! What s beautiful secret! Great cabins - sleeps 10 with real beds enough for 10 adults. Great kitchen area and stocked well. Easy to get in and out of park for a fairly close grocery run. Not a busy place so kids and dogs will like it.…

This is one of the prettiest places between the Rockies and the Atlantic Ocean. So many waterfalls, places to play in the water, and beautiful views. Yes, the short hike down can be a bit treacherous, and getting to the waterfalls is going to be difficult for many, but it's worth it. Go here. Soon.…
