Lovely guides and horses seemed to be treated well. But we had a few issues—With a party of 6 who has 3 males over 6 feet, we paid extra for larger horses when making reservation on the phone. That was not addressed when we got there, in fact it was so minimized that my 6’3” son was on a smaller horse than my 5’ daughter! Why did I pay the extra money?
Second, we arrived as directed at 9:15 and then had to wait for the everyone to arrive who booked the 9:30 ride—the last folks arriving well after 9:30. By the time we all got on our horses and got the instructions, we left at 10:05 for a little loop around the construction site where a new road is going in. We were returned to the stable at 10:35. That was our hour long ride! Very disappointing to all!
I understand you can’t control those that arrive late or the construction site—but an advertised hour long ride that lasts 30 minutes is bait and switch! Not good business tactics by any means! We will not return to your stables when we come back next summer!

We never miss an opportunity to schedule a trail ride at Goldrush Stables when we visit Pigeon Forge. We have been there several times. They have healthy, well-mannered horses and guides who know their individual personalities. Our guides today, Topanga, Christi, Savana, and Kaylee, took great care of the group, especially the ones who had never ridden a horse before. The trails offer variety in terrain, and you really get a generous amount of time riding for cost.

By far the best horseback riding experience in the the area... The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating... Miss Peggy hit you with a southern charm that made you feel extremely welcomed and set the tone for an amazing ride.
The trail itself was full of beautiful scenery with crossing creeks and rolling hills. The handlers and guides were extremely proficient at what they do. From first timers to experienced riders this is definitely the horseback riding experience you want to be a part of.
Thank you Miss Peggy and your staff for the knowledge and memories.. Will definitely be coming back again if I come back to the area.

My husband had been aggravating me to ride horses forever, and I kept putting him off as I am an experienced rider and did not want to go to one of those boring riding stables where the horses just walk behind the other and act out of it. I read the reviews on Trip Advisor and we decided to give this place a try. My husband, who is not an experienced rider was so excited and this place did not disappoint either of us. Our ride was scheduled for first thing in the morning, and we were the only riders that morning besides the two trail guides. The trail guides were very friendly and allowed us to go at our speed based on our experience and ability. We to to ride through a creek, gallop in a pasture, and ride up a trail overseeing the Dream More Resort. My husband and I visit Pigeon Forge on a regular basis and will definitely be going back. We also liked how they allowed us to take our own pictures and weren't trying to sell us anything extra. They were about making sure we had an enjoyable time.

This is the place to go for horseback riding! The owner is no nonsense ( as she should be to run a business efficiently) get there on time as to not slow the group behind you down from their slotted time. She was so easy to work with! Her staff couldn't have been better tour guides and made our group very comfortable! We had ages 6- 63 riding and it was great! 3 staff members rode with our group to make sure everyone felt comfortable on their horse! Price was fair and I would use them again! It was nice not to have to wait in a long line for our turn. When we got there, we got on our horses and rode! Great place! Will be back next time!
They also take pics of your group riding and send them to you after for no extra fee!

Our two families of four booked horseback riding in advance after seeing all the good reviews for GoldRush. I appreciated that we could reserve a time rather than having to get there and wait. The staff was very friendly and did a good job matching horses to riders. The horses were well cared for. We had a much bigger group than I expected and as a result I often couldn't see my kids on the trail and had to hope they were doing okay. The trail guide couldn't see the back of the pack and the guides in the back didn't always stick with the group. We, unfortunately, didn't have quite the same good experience that so many others seemed to have had. At one point all the horses ran past an area unexpectedly. I found out later that there was a bee hive on the trail in that spot that was a known issue. This was very scary for the kids in the group and I had to hope that they hung on tight to stay on their horse while it ran. Thankfully none of the horses were stung, but two of the kids did get stung.

My husband and I rode about a month ago at another trail so our granddaughter was visiting us in Virginia from N.C. and she loves coming to pigeon forge and wanted to go horseback riding and am I ever glad we picked this place. I’m an experienced rider so I don’t like a boring horse that just follows the leader and I got Sally who was a spunky girl 😃. Granddaughter is already wanting to go back the guides were amazing and ms Peggy has true southern charm

We had a good time riding here. The horses seemed to be well matched to the riders.
It was my husband's first experience and I hadn't ridden for too many years to mention. My husband got a little instruction but he managed ok. We had two guides, one in front and one behind. The guide in front was very quiet and basically lead the way. The guide behind the group was friendly and outgoing but spent more time talking with and taking photos of the last couple in the group. I'm sure everyone else would have enjoyed more interaction and photos too.

We loved riding through the creek and looking out on top of the hill. The kids got to feed a carrot to a horse before we got mounted. Going at 9:30am when they opened was a great idea because it was not too hot yet. Be prepared to tip guides with cash only. Be careful to guide your horse in the barrow places between trees - your leg/for can get rubbed. Great experience, or family loved it and wanted to do it again!

Great experience. Husband and teenager enjoyed riding horses. Very affordable we paid $59 for two people. It does cost more if you are over 210 pounds for a larger horse.
All participants seemed to love the experience as well. Guides were quick and obviously knowledgeable. Friendly but stern with "rules". Felt safe with kiddo riding for sure.

Has everyone seen the video of the EMPLOYEE WHIPPING a horse while it’s tied up?
Written February 12, 2023
Do all of your horses get tied up and brutally whipped by employees? Do all of your horses get kicked and I’m sure beaten in other ways?

Hi there, how much is an hour ride?
Are tour guides part of the tour or can a person ride without a guide?
Written March 31, 2021
The 1 hour was either $28 or $29 per person. I know it cost about $89 for myself and 2 family members.
Written June 14, 2020
Not sure but would suggest calling them because they answer the phone and are wonderful to deal with.

I would appreciate a shuttle or tram. Do you offer that?

I coulnt find prices how much is it? And is there a height and weight and age range?
Written July 16, 2015
It was $59 for 2 people for not quite an hour. If you want to tip your guide you can. I am not sure about the age question but they did mention that if someone was over 250-300 lbs.( I can't remember exactly which one) they charged extra.
